Food was bad and overpriced (regular restaurant'serves small order put onto a fancy dish with the price tag for something of better quality and flavor). Service was poor -had to get everything myself- the waitress complained about us because she gave us 2 dirty chopsticks.

I disliked the duck with vegetables. It was breaded and the sauce had wheat. The Mu shu duck was stale as well

I have been going to HSG for close to 18 years now. NEVER had a bad experience. Staff is friendly and treat you like their family. They customize the dishes for you. They serve AUTHENTIC chinese food so if you are used to the americanized, crappy version of what chinese food is from your china keng corner store and add ketchup to everything, this restaurant is not for you.

Very nice restaurant in Chinatown with owners that take their food seriously. While the traditional "Chinese Restaurant" fare is of course on the menu, there are also some more unique flavors that Cathy has picked up on her travels. Service has been great every time I've been there and the food quality is definitely more consistent than some of the "great one time, horrible the next" restaurants that plague Philly's Chinatown. I'd recommend a visit!
