JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR DIGITAL HISTORIAN

Dear Colleague,

I was recently speaking with a colleague over at the National Library of Medicine (part of NIH), Jeff Reznick, Chief of the History of Medicine division. Jeff is about to put out a new job vacancy for a Deputy Chief. This is a terrific position for an historian who is interested in the history of science/medicine. It has excellent salary and benefits.

I will note that Jeff is particularly interested in hiring someone with a digital history background. As you can imagine, NLM is sitting on an enormous trove of data about the history of medicine. Jeff wants his new hire to be someone who can help NLM not only make this data available, but work with historians in the field to encourage new kinds of digital research methods to take advantage of the data. It would be an excellent way of bridging the DH community to the medical sciences community.

If you have colleagues who may be interested in this opportunity, please point them to this message below.

Thanks,

Brett
