Hi, I’m Henry and I'm the best dog around! I’ve been in foster care for several months, but I’m now ready to find my forever home. I’m active, love going to the dog park and I can even solve puzzles. Once I settle down, all I want to do is throw myself on my back with my head in your lap. I have a few quirks and will require a special home, so please call the Shelter at 303-278-7575 if you’re interested in me. Are you ready for the most loyal, loving companion ever? Then I'm your man!

Hello! My name is Slinky, but Silky would better describe my luxurious, shiny coat. Besides being beautiful, I'm calm and affectionate. I'm confident that when you meet me, you'll want me in your life forever. I'm already spayed so I'm ready to go home with you today.

I love this place. It is very well managed and taken care of. I have adopted my most recent dog from here and I also help foster with the facility. Being so, I get to see how the animals are treated and taken care of. I love it. Every employee treats every animal as their own. They make sure that they provide the best care and attention to each and every animal. The adoption process is so easy to do here as well. I highly recommend adopting from this shelter.

I had to take in my dog who had started showing aggressive behavior towards my other dog and my kids. After weeks of searching for rescues to take her, as an absolute LAST choice I contacted Foothills Animal shelter. The women I talked to on the phone were very helpful, made it seem like they were more than willing to work with us because we desperately needed help. But, when I brought my dog in the desk clerk , Jake was extremely rude. Insinuating that I should keep my dog and endanger my other dog and my children. Even going as far as to say he was sure he would see me again with the next dog. I was infuriated, I have never willingly surrendered a dog in my life and I was extremely upset this was what I was having to do. And I would never do it again, the only reason being the safety of my children was in question. He didn't ask her breed, or her age, and got a minimal history. Which doesn't include the fact that her first owner abused her and her sister, and I got her from a foster. The entire time I was reprimanded saying her problems were only because she wasn't spayed,(which I had plans to do) or not walked on a leash everyday(which she hadn't done very often and we were working on), and he didn't seem to care there were children in the crossfire, didn't even listen to my concerns. I talked to several trainers, and vets trying to find the best possible option, and they all told me the same thing: she needed a behaviorist, and help that I wasn't qualified to give her. All of the rescues I contacted were full, and this was my absolute LAST option. I will NEVER be dealing with this place again. I will not be treated so appallingly over me trying to help my dog that I love dearly, and for keeping my family and other dog safe. If I could post with Zero stars I would. This isn't how you treat someone who is a loving dog owner seeking help for an animal they consider a part of their family.

We adopted a kitty from Foothills. The process was very easy and went smoothly. They told us they thought she was fixed but she went into heat several weeks later. When we called, they got her in within 24 hours to do the operation and didn't charge us a dime.

What a great experience! Everyone was so helpful, polite and had all the answered I was looking for. I found a little guy named Junior that has exceeded my expectations (sorry adopters you really missed out). Thank you everyone!

Awesome, simply awesome. The staff are passionate and mostly volunteers. This is a NO KILL shelter. The animals live in clean, for the most part comfortable (they would be more comfortable going to a loving home) environment and are well provided for. This is the best animal shelter I have ever been in. They provide next to free, great vet services to families who may need some assistance taking care of their pet. They take in animals of all kinds and really care for them as long as they are at the shelter. They are also excellent through the adoption process. Excellent all around. Bravo you guys!

Warning do not go into this "non profit" and get attached if you don't play there gave the will sell the dog your looking at it. My wife went and got our dog to introduce them. My kids and I stayed After our dog to dog meeting we where already out of the doors with an employee that told us to take a minute and discuss in that time they allowed someone to put a hold on the dog we where going to buy (cash in hand) but the incredibly rude receptionist Told us we where out of there doors nothing she could do and that receptionist is by far the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life disrespected my wife and undermined the talk I just had with my kids about not rushing a large decision like adopting a dog however this facility is a retail store there for one reason making money that's why you have to play their game if you are interested I would highly recommend finding a more reputable shelter that does what's best for the animals and not their profit margin

Friendly Staff. The cats we met in the 'meeting room' seemed a little nervous and restless, but that's probably because there are many people who request them to be taken out of their cages! The place is fairly clean and the staff seemed to actually care about the animals.
