For those who may not know Gilbert is currently ranked among the top 2 lightweight MMA fighters in the world and is the current Strikeforce lightweight champion. I attended a nogi grappling class taught by Gilbert himself but the highlight of the night for me was getting to roll with Gilbert for about 5 minutes. In the course of those 5 mins I must have been submitted 8-10 times. He probably thought I was a little crazy as I was giggling like a school girl the whole time.
I want to thank Gilbert and the rest of his team (especially Josh) for being such gracious hosts. Anyone in the San Francisco area should definitely drop by. The facility is huge featuring a full octagon, lots of mat space, heavy Fairtex bags, and a soon to be installed boxing ring. I think the grand opening for this new facility is in October.
And a big thank you again to for taking me along.
