Ushuaïa hotel is (wannabe) hip and expensive. They throw huge parties with famous DJ's playing for a crowd of rich kids. The bigger, amoeba-shaped pool is a fun location for that sort of entertainment. The Ushuaïa Oyster and Caviar Bar is situated at the more private pool (you have to drink from plastic for safety reasons) of the Ushuaïa hotel tower. My wife and I fancied a couple of oysters, king-crab legs and bubbles. Although the restaurant only had us and another couple to serve, it took the waitresses a while to find somebody not to busy (?!) to serve us... When we got our oysters and king-crab legs (500 grams instead of our ordered 250 grams), we where only presented knives and forks to open up the tough crab's exterior, which didn't work of course. Also we got just a couple of prepackaged lemon-scented-chemical-drenched mini towels to clean our fingers with... The smell would definitely kill all mosquitos on our part of the island. Not classy at all. After I asked for the appropriate lobster and crab utensils and a bowl of water with a fresh lemon in it for cleaning our fingers, we got 2 free drinks to make up for the mistakes, which was nice of them. Oysters were nice too, but the king-crab legs were boiled then grilled, which made the flesh very chewy and very difficult to separate from the legs. In the end we only had to pay for the 250 grams we ordered instead of the 500 grams we got... Wow. Ushuaïa Oyster & Caviar Bar is pretentious but doesn't know anything about class nor style. Very disappointing.

Dear Sir, In our restless effort to deliver quality to our guests, we´ll surely take in very high consideration the comments above mentioned. The Oyster & caviar bar is undergoing major changes that include finding the best providers of products, state of the art equipment and last but surely not least, staff training to ensure the best service at all the time. We are sincerely looking forward for you to experience our restaurants again in the future and notice a huge increase in the quality of the food, service and ambience The Ushuaïa Restaurants Team

The parties are great there, but don't stay there. The rooms overlooking the parties are really badly designed and small for the money you pay. Also, you are not guaranteed the type of room you get whether top floor or ground. Front desk will promise the room you require, however, at check-in, it won't be available. There is no pool culture during the day, in fact the place is deserted. It takes an hour to check in and an hour to check out The staff is useless and on top they treat you and your friends like criminals even for bringing a bottle of water into the hotel Management is rude and unapologetic about anything. Save the money, stay somewhere else, and go there for just the party.

I and my 3 friends came to Ushuaia for the evening event Axwell Ingrosso in August. I was in the queue and one of my friends was hunting in her bag for the tickets. I was not causing any problems, as people were walking around me to scan their tickets and go through. I was not in the way; I just desperately needed to go to the toilet, waiting on my friend to pass me my ticket. All of a sudden a huge, black bouncer was shouting at me saying 'get out of the queue' and then to my shock I was physically pushed by him out of the queue nearly being pushed over. I was so shocked; I am a young girl who has bad, unstable legs (from a previous injury 3 years ago where I broke both my legs in 5 places), being pushed by a huge black man. If I'd have fallen over I would have really struggled to get myself back up. What shocked me is that there were 2 other black bouncers (slightly smaller than this man) who did nothing, which means all 3 of them find this sort of behaviour acceptable or they’re just scared of him. Probably the latter. I have emailed them with no response so they obviously get away with quite a lot. Just be careful on entering, if staff physically pushed me, a young girl who did nothing wrong, I wonder what else they get away with? Once we finally found our tickets and I had obviously taken a walk to calm down, which I did. My friends cheered me up and after almost wanting to get straight back in a taxi and go home, they convinced me to come in and have a good night. We queued back up quietly, went to go straight in and he recognised me, stopped me and started shouting at me. I could see people around me, including my friends, were so shocked and scared. He was shouting 'are you ready to go in now? People are going to push and shove you when you are in there, if you don't like it, don't come in' and he kept repeating this, shouting. I was so shocked by this and have never been spoken down to like this, especially by a member of staff. I nodded and continued in, as I was genuinely scared by this guy (who wouldn’t be!) and after talking to my friends after this happened, they were too. A young guy also asked me after it happened if I was okay and he couldn’t believe what he just saw. Bring a lot of money also as drink prices are through the roof but that goes without saying in Ibiza!!

As i didn't stay as a guest at Ushuaia and only attended the weekly wednesday Departures show with Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell, its hard for me to review the hotel as a hotel. However the venue itself is spectacular, from the interesting and unique style of the rooms to the beautiful design of the Ushuaia Tower. Ushaia hotel is one of the most interesting and unique places on the Island, definitely worth a visit to one of the weekly shows as the lighting is spectacular along with the outstanding sound system.
