Local Election Results
Among the stuff I followed locally:
* Scotts Valley Measure K (parcel tax for local schools) passed with 76%!
* District 5 County Supervisor (where I live) will have a runoff between Eric Hammer (whom I supported because he's a bike guy with a future in politics) and Bruce McPherson (experienced politician with mega connections around the state, surprised everybody with his decision to run for local office, though he's also a supporter of efforts to increase non-car transportation in Santa Cruz County).
* Mark Stone from Santa Cruz and Republican Tom Walsh are headed for a run off in the state Assembly 29th District. If his past experience as director of the county Senior Coalition is any guide, Walsh seems to favor Tea Party politics. Stone supported bicycle projects as District 5 County Supervisor.
