I usually love the bad waitress but I had some real bad service last Sat. it took 35 Minutes to get my food. My coffee was not refilled after about 30 minutes and my food was over cooked. My partners food was also over cooked as well as underdone. I think they noticed we were frustrated and tried to give better service but then it was too late. I get that its bad waitress but bad service? I'm upset that I tipped before I experienced that service.

Traveled to Minneapolis to see friends and as vegetarians we struggle to find unique veggie friendly establishments. We stumbled upon the Bad Waitress Diner and we were pleasantly surprised. This is a diner, not a fancy restaurant. You must order your food at the counter, and then the food is delivered to your table.. They have an amazing array of options for the carnivore and the vegan. The staff was very accommodating to my children and when we went back for a second meal we were treated like regular customers. Due to the diverse menu and organic ingredients the prices are higher than you would expect for a diner. Please do not let that chase you away. Recommendations: Veggie Chili, Veggie Burger, Portobello Burger, Super Nova Kale Scramble, and Flying Saucer Omelette. The Spyhouse Caramella Malt is excellent, but if plain is your name the vanilla and strawberry malts are good too. The restaurant changed ownership in the last year (I asked), so disregard negative reviews from over a year old and give this restaurant a second chance.

Cool concept and atmosphere for sure, really enjoyed the booths that opened to the outside. Friendly staff, disappointing eggs benedict. The eggs were almost hard boiled with no runny yoke - that's not a proper eggs benedict. The hollandaise was delicious though!

Not the place to go if you like food. However, if you like nats and flies and mediocre over priced food this is the place for you. Yuck

I love this place so much. When I first moved to the neighborhood this is what made me feel apart of it. Great coffee, awesome service with staff that remembers who you are, yummy yummy yummy food with lots of veggie options. They even serve wine and beer. Love it!

I think people are too hard on this shop. It isn't everything I ever dreamed of, but it is a damn fine diner. Good, local food and quality coffee. The atmosphere is better than any of the other restaurants on eat street. Plus, if you're nice to your server (which you should be anyway), they'll likely be nicer to you. I've seen too many people walk in, sit down for less than five minutes, and complain loudly that they're "waiting to be served." Don't do that. It's rude and unnecessary. If you don't understand the system, ask questions politely. As far as what to avoid: burgers aren't too great, cake is dry every time, and just be aware that the drip coffee tends to have grounds in it. Otherwise, everything I've had was great and the service was friendly.

Good food, good coffee, nice staff. I loves the Mexican mocha. The diner is organized much the way a Culvers is in terms of service. You don't have to tip before you eat your food, you can leave it on the table
