The +Opel Ampera (née Chevy Volt) is the most credible plug-in car on the market at this time. If offers 50 miles of commuting range at the (european) cost equivalent of 2L/100km (118mpg) and the comfort and piece of mind of ubiquitous and instant refueling with its gasoline powered range extender. At more than 50KCHF, it still remains a luxury item, furthermore as the business case's break-even point is unreachable. Looks modern, handles well, it will be interesting to see how the plug-in Prius compares.
