Why be limited to the apps Google chooses? Here's how to run any Android app on Chromebooks.
Last week Google opened the door for Android apps on Chrome OS. The first four apps arrived: Duolingo, Evernote, Vine, and Sight Words. Google promises that

I keep telling people "keep your unlimited data plan"... And then crickets. I see your point about paying an absurd price for a new device, but subsidies are old news. Then... more crickets.

What many of us know that the penny wise pound foolish masses do not is that the 3 to 4 hundred bucks you might save is not worth the jump. Once you leave, never may you return.

Got an unlimited plan? Hold it for dear life. Stream away the day and miss the joy of searching for decent WiFi since that too will soon become a huge mess.

Unlimited means all GB are created equal. Tiered data creates a class system where the rich receive more than the poor. Trust me. It will get worse before it gets better. Pretty soon, you won't be able to afford to use G+.

Mobile data consumption nearly doubled this year, thanks in part to giant smartphones
According to research by Chetam Sharma, a wireless carrier consultant, we’re using about double the mobile data we did last year. In 2012, US customers used about 690MB monthly via their smartphone...

General travel discussion  -

I don't travel often and I don't know who cares to know, but I spent the night in a fantastic place in #PalmSprings called #sparrows and it's pretty cool.

I think it used to be called the Ranchero Lodge? A couple bought it and rebuilt it. There's a sign with two sparrows but it doesn't actually say anything.

The best part? It's been open for only seven weeks!! My wife and I were one of two patrons in the joint and the stay was amazing. The shower was phenomenal and the room smelled like freshly chopped wood. I slept like a baby. No wonder people are keeping it a secret.

I attached the location but it's wrong. I tried searching Google Maps and it wasn't there yet. It's off the grid for real.

It's also dog friendly but not for kids. There isn't anything strange going on, but kids would spoil the point of this place.

Stop by if only to see what could be a very well kept secret.

Okay. But at the end it's just your brain guessing.

I do the same. Almost always know when people are lying, exaggerating, leaving things out! And yes, I also do not accuse, but rather ask questions that ultimately get them to reveal what they really mean. Sounds passive aggressive (or something like that) now that I typed it, but I don't think it really is. Do you? If I know the person well I think it's fun to play with them and if I don't know them, it's just kind of funny. When I worked at Starbucks a customer told me I should be a detective lol!! Not because she was lying but because I noticed everything and drew conclusions before she said them (which is why I suspect we are great lie detectors).

People criticized the Galaxy Gear series for being glorified smartphones on your wrist. Google is trying to do something different with Android Wear, but

Spoonful. Who came up with that? It's like thought provoking. What doesn't provoke thought? What constitutes a full spoon?

Can I get some ice cream? :D

If you'd let me work in peace, I might effectively solve both of our problems.

Those that can't do ... sometimes create distractions for those that are doing.  Rather than do for themselves, is it easier to derail someone else and their momentum?  For some.

Be inspired by people who do what you wish you were doing.  Then take aim and fire your ambition in that direction.  It won't be envy that fuels you, it will be self-respect.

I worked retail in college. My manager was on vacation and it was slow. I'd didn't make a trebuchet, but I did make a bow and arrow from a discarded merchandising kit, eight or so rubber bands, and a couple of shoe horns.

Well, somehow she learned of my exploits and wrote me up. It was a well crafted device.

And YES. I did. Probably shouldn't have in the store, but how else would I have known if it worked?

Voice search is one of those features that seems silly, but is awesome once you start using it. Not convinced? Here are a few ways to turn voice search from a silly gimmick into a useful productivity tool.
