CAPA's mission is to prevent and treat all forms of child abuse by creating changes in individuals, families and society that strengthen relationships and promote healing. Our objective is to prevent and treat child abuse through counseling, family support and preventon education.
CAPA was founded in 1975 by a group of volunteers who were interested in addressing the plight of child abuse in our community. Over the years we have grown into 17 staff member agency, with 15 AmeriCorps Service members, providing counseling, in-home visitation services, and prevention education programs to thousands of children and their families each year.
In 2011, CAPA was awarded acrreditation through the Council on Accreditation, based in New York, NY.
