First things first, this in not a Turkish, but a Bosnian establishment. There's a difference - the dough sheets are hand pulled, slightly thicker, the cheese is not the salty feta style and the pies are hearty and delicious. Try the homemade yoghurt for a taste of the real thing (as opposed to supermarket varieties). The small backyard garden does not match the chic decor of newer establishments, though in nice weather is an oasis of calm.

A small, inviting location. A relaxed atmosphere. The burek was a good portion size, and tasted quite well.

Cheap, quick, and delicious burek! The main menu isn't that bad either from what I'vw tried anyway.

Advertised as "the best burek in town" - burek standards are pretty low in NYC then. It wasn't horrible, but not exactly the tasty burek I'm used to either. It was dry and very crispy, as opposed to juicy and soft. The krem pita (cream slice) dessert was underwhelming as well, unfortunately. The people were nice though and I would still come back to try some other dishes.

If you heard about burek, traditional savory pie from Balkan region, this is the place in NYC where you need to try it. The blend of crusty dough and ingredients is perfect! Also try get the drinkable yogurt for a complete experience. You can also get your burek to go or even frozen so you can make it yourself. But if you don't know how to do it, just eat it there, they do it properly. Interior breathes with Balkan vibe and staff is friendly and attentive. Overall great place for one specialized dish like burek is.
