F# is a mature, open source, cross-platform, functional-first programming language that that is rapidly growing in popularity as a viable companion and alternative to C# and VB .NET. With its succinct and expressive syntax, jaw-droppingly powerful features and vibrant community, it's no wonder that many of the features being proposed for the next version of C# are based on F#!

This talk will introduce the F# language and ecosystem to you, and show you just a few of the reasons why using F# can drastically reduce both bug rates and time to market. We'll see some compelling examples of how you can immediately start using it as a part of your existing day-to-day .NET application stack, and also see some amazing demos of how F# is pushing the boundaries in data access, cloud computing, distributed compute and solving big data problems.

Back in 2010, Visual Studio came with a new language on board: F#. Out of curiosity, I started playing with it, and got hooked. F# is a fantastic language - it mixes functional and Object Oriented approaches seamlessly, encourages writing bug-free code (it is virtually impossible to get a null exception...), comes with great features, and is incredibly productive. In this talk, I will give a intro to F# for C# developers, illustrated with live code samples, and discuss where it fits and how you can get started with it!

Die Zeit ist wieder reif für ein Coding Dojo.
Dieses Mal steht die Kata fest: GameOfLife.
Die Programmiersprache ist egal. C#, F#, Ruby?
Bringt euren Laptop mit und probiert es aus!
