My boyfriend and I saw a Groupon for their wine tour and tasting for 2, a bottle of wine, and 2 souvenir wine glasses for $18, so we decided that $18 wouldn't be too much of a risk if we didn't enjoy ourselves. As some reviewers have pointed out, this winery is in the middle of neighborhood. I thought that was a bit odd, but once we arrived it seemed as if we were out in the country and the fact that it was located in a residential area wasn't the least bit off-putting. The property was peaceful and had a serene feel to it. Avery, the gentleman who facilitated the wine tasting, seemed like a nice guy but his constant gum smacking and "ums" and "likes" were unprofessional. The lady who led us on the tour was knowledgeable and professional. As for the wine itself, I've had better. I did enjoy their "Date Nite" variety though, and their "winoritas" were amazing.

Wine 1/5 I do not know what exactly it was, but both my fiance and I thought there was just the slightest odd taste in each of their wines that was incredibly off-putting. I tried all of them, hoping the taste would go away, but it did not. I know Muscadine and Vinifera/dry wine very well...and there was something just off. Property/Views 4/5 After driving through an interesting residential area of Monroe, the treehouse and views into some ponds and barns across the way are striking, yet really relaxing after spending some time just enjoying the views. The treehouse gets very crowded, but it can be rented. Owners/Workers 2/5/5 The owners were very friendly, the man gave us the tour and shared the pleasant story of family history and how the winery came to be. Was very unimpressed with the workers proceeding with the tastings however, because they literally did not seem to know anything about wine, talked about how they did not like the wine (like all of them) as they were pouring. Tour/Extras 4/5 The tour was very informative, and again the owner led it well. We were there for a GroupOn deal and it was very crowded, but worked out okay. They do a TON of events here, and those paired with the Treehouse make it a very unique winery (and possibly the closest to Charlotte)....just wish their wine was better! Drive-worthy? Only if you want to enjoy the treehouse and property, otherwise there are definitely other muscadine wineries to be discovered.

We found "Nervana" in Monroe. The vineyard experience was wonderful; tour was very educational and the owners are warm and wonderful. Sweet Union wine was superb and love that their wines are named for local places, a pet horse Bailey that roams the vineyard or personal experiences. They are wonderful at marketing the vineyard's relaxing atmosphere with Fire Pit Fridays, warm and mellow live music that doesn't drown your conversation out and their employees are the most knowledgable. It's a family affair with all working the vineyard and the treehouses are a wonderful attraction. You can also sit on numerous tree swings right on the lake or rocking chairs around a firepit and enjoy a bottle of their wonderful wines or bring a blanket and food and picnic in a georgeous vineyard. Phil and Diane......you've created a little taste of Eden in Union County and we will keep coming and recommending Treehouse to all!

Absolutely incredible! Wonderful employees and owners. Family run business. The location and landscape are so very beautiful. Delicious wines. We are going to go every week now! Will also rent one of the treehouses ASAP. Highly recommended.

Their wines were very good, mostly on the sweeter side. Excellent presentation and explanation of the wines. The place was a little off the beaten track. They could use some signage. Thank goodness for GPS.
