Wolfson Foundation Grant £50,000
We are pleased to announce that Westcliff High School for Girls in Southend-on-Sea, Essex has been awarded a grant of £50,000 from The Wolfson Foundation towards the fitting out of the Engineering space in the new East Wing. The Wolfson Foundation is an independent charity that supports and promotes excellence in the fields of science, health, education and the arts and humanities.

As the CEO says in their own letter "Funding from the Wolfson Foundation is awarded following rigorous and independent expert review. The grant recognises the quality of your project and we hope that it not only acts as an endorsement of your activities but may also help you to secure additional funds from other sources." The bid was assessed by Sir Eric Ash who visited the school in April. A range of pupils and staff met Sir Eric and were instrumental in showcasing the school.

Headteacher Dr Paul Hayman said “We are grateful to The Wolfson Foundation for their support to this project and with this donation we will be able to equip our new teaching areas to the highest standard”.
