Fun factoids: The +Los Angeles Times made its first presidential endorsement in 1884, for Republican James G. Blaine. (He lost to Grover Cleveland.) Every subsequent endorsement from then until 1972 was for the Republican candidate. The Times made no endorsements from 1973-2008.
