Is the US Airline Industry Overreacting to Brexit? Airline stocks reflected the close ties between the air travel industries in the US and UK. In the days leading up to the vote, polls appeared to show that the Remain effort would prevail. Airline stocks in the US rose on this expectation. They fell significantly today, however, after Britain’s Leave effort proved successful.
Stocks are down and fears are up in America after the Brexit vote. Should American carriers be worried or are they overreacting?

Another Very Sad Automotive Recall Issue: 'Star Trek' actor Anton Yelchin's SUV was recalled in April over rollaway risk In April, Fiat Chrysler Automotive voluntarily recalled about 1.1 million cars and sport utility vehicles after an investigation found that electronic shifts could spring back to their previous position after being moved to a different gear, according to National Highway Transportation Safety Administration records. Drivers could mistakenly believe that the car was placed in park and exit the vehicle, and if the parking brake was not applied and the car was still running, the car could roll away and cause injury, according to agency reports. As of April, at least 41 injuries were allegedly linked to the recall issue. The NHTSA also found that operation of the gear shift was “not intuitive” and gave “poor tactile and visual feedback to the driver, increasing the potential for unintended gear selection.”
The model of the sport utility vehicle that lurched down a driveway and killed “Star Trek” actor Anton Yelchin had recently been recalled after federal regulators found that its gear shifting could confuse drivers and possibly cause vehicles to roll away, according to government records.

Aviation Safety Issues: Drones: NASA studies air-traffic control for drones FAA typically requires drone operators to keep the aircraft within sight during daylight hours and less than 500 feet above ground. Hobbyists follow similar rules. In contrast to airliners, the FAA isn’t expected to guide drones itself. NASA is helping the FAA develop rules of the road, which operators such as proposed delivery services from Amazon, Google and Walmart could adopt in order to fly safely and reliably. With thousands of companies flying independently, with different equipment and different ways of using it, answers could be complicated. The research with 200 collaborators including the FAA and the Defense Department could determine how multiple operators and aircraft communicate with each other to avoid each other's flight paths, while also providing warnings about bad weather such as wind or icing.
WASHINGTON – Call it the drone zone. NASA researchers are studying ways to safely manage flights of remote-controlled aircraft as the skies grow more crowded below 500 feet.

Congratulations To All My Cleveland Friends & Family LeBron finally brings a title home to Cleveland - It took a native son -- the most important draft pick in franchise history 13 oh-so-lucky years ago, born and bred just about 30 miles down the road, in Akron, Ohio -- to break the cycle of disappointment. If back-to-back titles in Miami were James' breakthrough as one of the game's all-time greats, the championship in Cleveland represents his ascension to living-legend status.

Bezos' New Shepard rocket chalks up 4th test flight It was the company's first live webcast of a New Shepard launch. The New Shepard booster and capsule are designed to lift six passengers at a time on sub-orbital up-and-down flights out of the discernible atmosphere, to altitudes just above the generally accepted 100 kilometer, or 62-mile-high, "boundary" of space.

Apple takes stance against Trump by withholding financial & tech aid from upcoming GOP convention Donald Trump also called for an all-out boycott on Apple products because of the company’s refusal to aid the FBI in unlocking the San Bernardino gunman’s iPhone. The ironic part about this statement from Mr. Trump, however, was that he or someone in his campaign was tweeting a series of messages from Twitter for iPhone.
According to a report from Politico, Apple has told Republican leaders that it will not be providing support in any way, including financial, for the party’s upcoming convention. The report s…

Who Wins?? Pick Now!!! Rolling Stones Article: Led Zeppelin 'Stairway' Trial Goes to Jury as Both Sides Plead Case "Any other catfights or anything else?" judge admonishes counsels after contentious back-and-forth. The defense's lead counsel, Peter Anderson, also displayed humor in his final argument - often to his advantage. "The best place to start is [Malofiy said the case could be summed] up in six words from the Bible: 'In the beginning God created...' He promised six words but delivered only five - and throughout this case he's made more promises, but hasn't delivered."

Porter Ranch Gas Leak Situation: METHANE LEAK SEEN FROM SPACE NASA reported that the methane leak from Southern California was registered from space. Satellite data from January revealed the leak from beneath a Porter Ranch mountain, showing the magnitude of the greenhouse gas emissions. The satellite recorded the methane leak on three different occasions, and scientists managed to map its magnitude and morphology. The orbital measurements were validated by the information captured by airborne instruments. Researchers have now the proof that space observations could contribute to further methane leak detection's. #PorterRanchMethaneGas

Jim McMahon, other NFL veterans push for marijuana as painkiller “There’s so many uses to this plant,” says McMahon, who has been diagnosed with early onset dementia and struggles with severe headaches, memory loss and depression linked to the countless concussions he suffered during his career. “Hundreds of thousands of people are dying from (painkillers) and there’s not one case of people dying from the hemp plant,” McMahon said. McMahon is part of a growing group of NFL veterans urging the league to remove marijuana from the banned substance list. On top of the plant’s pain management benefits, the players cite the potential of cannabidiol, or CBD, an extract of the plant, to minimize the brain damage caused by concussions and smaller, repetitive hits.
Former Super Bowl champion Jim McMahon says he wishes he smoked more weed when he played in the NFL.

Interesting Question: Waze to help drivers avoid tough intersections: Does GPS make us safer? Navigation app Waze has unveiled a new feature that will help drivers avoid difficult intersections, the latest technological attempt to make the roads safer. To avoid the "stressful scenario" of navigating such situations, Waze users who wish to travel via less chaotic intersections can now choose to do so. The new feature, being piloted in Los Angeles, is the most recent attempt by the Google-owned app to make driving a safer, more convenient experience. Waze already alerts drivers when they are approaching "police, accidents, road hazards or traffic jams" by displaying real-time warnings from other drivers.

Do You Like This Concept: L.A. start up looks to extend concierge medicine to surgery Concierge medicine is a small but growing concept in which doctors, typically in primary care, focus on a smaller, wealthier clientele who pay a membership fee to get on-demand access to their physicians. The group of 16 surgeons will initially specialize in orthopedic sports, spine surgery, gynecology and robotics procedures. The basic membership level, which allows patients to schedule appointments within two weeks, is $99 a year. Concierge level membership, which includes the highest access to physicians and appointment scheduling within 24-48 hours, is $2,500 a quarter.
A Los Angeles company is looking to expand the field of concierge medicine to include on-demand surgical care.
