I have stayed here a few times and it's a great hotel because its on Ocean Dr and in the middle of all the hustle and bustle but the hotel is a very mellow and quite hotel ( as I thought so ). My problem is that we stayed at this hotel in November 2014 and since then they have switched management companies earlier this year and wow what a horrible management company. The problem was the hotel has a engineer that works for the hotel who must think he owns the place because he invited his family to hang out by the for 3 days and I'm not talking 2 or 3 people there were 9 of them. They came in every day at 2 pm and didn't leave till 4 am for 3 days straight and when the showed up they came in with coolers filled with beer and a DJ speaker and they were blasting Spanish music for 12 hours straight and singing......(VERY RUDE). I paid big money to stay in this hotel and expecting it to be just as relaxing as it was the last 2 times I stayed there. As I am spending money hanging by the pool these vagrants didn't even spend a dollar but they pimped out the bar tender by getting him to give them FREE ice, cups and limes so the could get belligerently drunk on tequila and ruin the whole vibe of that hotel. THIS EMGINEER AT THE HOTEL SHOULD BE FIRED HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE GUESTS OR HIS SUPERIORS!!!!!!!!!! They also lived out of the bathrooms and trashed them both. SECURITY DID NOTHING TO QUITE THESE PEOPLE OR WOULDN'T EVEN TOSS THEM OUT. ( STAY AWAY )

This hotel is in a great location, but there are much better options for the money. The hotel will add a lot of fees when you check out beyond anything published at Kayak, Travelocity, etc.. When you go to check out they will add fees for the pool, towels, sauna, wifi.. etc. no matter what you have used. I was told the first morning I had "complimentary" breakfast that came with the room. Upon checking out, I was charged for it! The WIFI is absolutely horrible. I had a ton of work to do while I was there and unable to use the internet. I called the front desk and they blamed the internet company. I told them that the problem was my wifi location has barely 1 bar and would get connectivity errors on all my devices. They continued to blame the internet company and said they were trying to fix it. THE INTERNET SERVICE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WIFI QUALITY! The local network structure is independent of internet service. Even if the internet is completely off, you will still see the number of WIFI bars strength as normal. These mentally challenged individuals could not understand this. I tried talking to several managers and they just could not understand this very basic information. For three days I had no internet service in my room. I could walk around and find other locations that worked fine. Still, when I checked out I was charged a "WIFI" service fee! What a joke. These people are incapable of understanding anything and really don't care about service. I am sure there are other rooms with poor quality based on my testing. If I was an owner/operator, I would make sure every room has suitable wifi. Basically, anyone that gets shoved into these inferior rooms will never want to go back based on the WIFI quality. I don't know how international people visiting S. Beach can deal with poor wifi service given their inability to just use their smart phones data while roaming. So, now to the rooms! I paid over $400 a night for the upgraded tub room when adding the massive service fees so popular at South Beach. The bathroom is absolutely horrible. It's a thin closet sliding door that resembles something you expect in a Japanese environment. They are extremely thin. In addition, the gap between the closet door and the frame of the bathroom opening is about 1.5-2". Another words, your bedroom is in the bathroom! You can hear everything. There is no privacy. The water closet (toilet) has a thin glass door that resembles a public restroom. There is no sound quality whatsoever. You can hear the slightest sound in bed coming from the toilet! Remember, this is a boutique hotel on South Beach, so the rooms are tiny. It really felt my bed was in the bathroom. There was tons of nasty mold on the ceiling of the bathroom too. I mean massive! I will post pictures on Travelocity soon. The service is absolutely rude at the front desk if you even nicely complain about internet or anything. I hated my stay. It was easily the worst hotel experience I ever had. A Holiday Inn would even score 5 stars over this. I would never stay here again. Please look elsewhere unless you like staying in bathrooms. You can find much better places for less than half the costs. I stayed at a Marriot Resort the last two nights at half the costs!

Stayed here 2 times during the WMC that takes place yearly. The place was kept clean and the staff was courteous. The hotel is located close to Big Pink a place to grab food at all ours. They have Teds bar which is a local hangout and of course the beach is across the street. This area of south beach is where you will find lots of the locals. Plus the clubs start in this area.

Dirtiest room I've ever stayed in. Blood and stains all over the sheets and nothing was done to fix it.

We stayed there for three nights mid April 2014 and enjoyed our experience completely. When we arrived our room was not ready but we were early so we enjoyed lunch and then cocktails by the lovely pool. They could not have been more courteous and concerned with making certain our stay was completely satisfying. Although the rooms are not large, they are very clean and updated. They did many little unexpected things that made them stand out from many other hotels we have stayed in. Be sure to get a tour of the Versace Mansion while you are there. I would stay here again without a though. The location is perfect as well.

Positive: the hotel is located in a good area(no noise) and is clean, cute décor. Negative: Staff could care less about you as a guest. The food at the restaurant is disgusting. Someone entered my room TWICE, without notice or knocking on the door. Just straight into the room at about 7 pm in the evening. (two evenings in a row). When I picked up my car from valet, my key chain was destroyed, taped together and given back to me without anyone saying a thing about it. A very expensive keychain- Clearly they tried to fix the issue by taping it. I called the hotel to inform of both problems I experienced. It is near impossible to get ahold of anyone at the hotel/front desk. When you do, they take a message for the manager (Cree) to call you back. After persistent attempts to resolve this matter, nothing is done- not even a phone call. The manager, Cree called back once ( after I left over 5 messages) to say that she is looking into this issue. 2 weeks later, nothing has been resolved. The courtesy of a phone call does not exist at this hotel. I have called back repeatedly, and no answer. So think twice about staying at this hotel for reasons I have listed.

This is an art deco hotel at it's loveliest, although they have cheated a little to get the extension to the hotel looking the same. We had a lovely room with partial sea view at a good price and a nice continental breakfast. There was excellent service at front desk and also having cocktails on the front walk. The only, but significant problem was I found my PDA had been stolen from my bag when I got back home. I'm sure I should have put it in the safe with our other valuables, but it got overlooked and so I'm very unhappy a member of staff with access to the bedrooms of such an upmarket hotel would search through belongings to steal.
