We went there for my daughter's 4th birthday. The parking lot was fairly empty for Addison and the restaurant had only a few tables at 6:30 on a Monday. The hostess was seated in a back corner "office" on her phone when we arrived. We told her we had a party of 4, and she promptly asked if had a reservation to which I replied no. She then stated that she was completely booked until 8:30. My husband and I looked at one another in disbelief and truly thought she was joking. We had looked at their website on the way and had contemplated making a reservation through open table, so we checked it again while in their hallway and they had at least 4 times available for a table of 4 starting at 6:45. We then returned back the hostess and informed her of our reservation to which we were promptly seated. Our server was okay, he had 5+ tables and seemed calmed but we still had to wait too long for refills and for our table to be bused after each course. The food was bland while the portions were decent.

Do not come here on Valentines day. The meal took three hours. The waiter demanded we verbally tell him how much each person was going to tip before bringing us our check so it could be added on in advance which was awkward and unnecessary. My SO and I are vegetarian and went here with two ither couples. Despite checking to make sure they had plenty of vegetarian options in advance, they would not serve us the vegetarian entree because it was not on the Valentines special menu and then they also refused to serve us any alternate vegetarian foodm so we didn't get an entree and mooched the broccoli and mushrooms that came with our friends meals thinking at least we get cheese and dessert. We order dessert and only once it comes to the table do they tell us we don't get to have dessert if we didn't order an entree. WTF? They still charged us for the godawful salad at the beginning of the meal. The service was slow and impolite. The prices were ridiculous. From now on I'll be going to Simply Fondue instead.

Cheese was ok but not your delicious original spinach artichoke dip you're used too. Entree had TINY BLAND PORTIONS!!! These foods needed more seasoning. Gave us raw no flavored potatoes. Then charge us 115!!!! Never again! 2 stars because the dessert was good. Won't be back and won't recommend.

We came in around 10pm tonight with plenty of time before closing and we were refused service. We just wanted to grab dessert but despite getting parking right in front of the restaurant and having plenty of seats open we were told "more people were coming in later" and were refused a seat (open table had all time slots open). Absolutely no one was sitting at the bar but the bartender said he was busy so we couldn't even sit there. I guess the staff there had had enough for the night. We won't be back to bother them again but I hope the manager reads these and improves things there.

There was no line, the restaurant was almost empty at 8pm. Waitstaff wasn't very friendly.

I was a fan of the Melting Pot in Tampa, FL so I felt confident about this visit; however, it didn't live up to my expectations. First, an inexperienced waiter poured from the bottle of wine I brought (an expensive bottle hand-carried from Chile), then returned five minutes later to tell us they had to re-cork it and "funnel our glasses back in". The manager explained that this was a regulatory requirement and promised a substantial discount on any wine we chose. I chose a bottle from their wine list, but the the final bill failed to discount it at all and, being on a date, I wasn't in a position to argue the amounts. So much for that. The music playing throughout the night was top-40 pop that couldn't help but spoil the ambiance. The waiter didn't like it either and explained that it was set by corporate; I appreciated the solidarity, but prefer empowered staff who enact change for the benefit of customers. The food is not remarkable either in presentation or quality, but not substandard either; we enjoyed it, and in particular the Mojo preparation was a great blend of spices. Compared to Tampa, however, it was served with rather less flair and enthusiasm. For example: Melting Pot serves its entrees with 6 dipping sauces, and our waiter listed them rapidly and perfunctorily; I asked him to slow down please, and he listed them again at roughly the same speed. Again, I let it go. Didn't want to be /that guy/. I and my date, for whom English is not a first language, guessed our way through the sauces. By contrast, my former experiences at the Melting Pot have been with knowledgeable, enthusiastic waitstaff that really made an experience of it. My previous experiences have been 2.5hr+ experiences, and a joy at that. This time, we left in less than an hour and a half. It wasn't, I'm afraid, the romantic experience I was aiming for.
