The mother's response in this story just gave me seriously vindictive warm fuzzies. I never even knew warm fuzzies could feel vindictive! http://www.geekfill.com/2014/02/24/this-girl-did-this-after-the-boy-at-school-twanged-her-bra-what-followed-is-gold/#

+Laura Kohler then I will add my thought that the only way this would have gotten more awesome is if the mom had then asked her daughter something like, "Are your knuckles sore? Do you need some ice?"

Ooh, Lars, this is a really neat way to do a hideable Murphy bed!
We live in Manhattan where space is a premium. We are fortunate to have a playroom that also needs to double as a guest room. Conventional Murphy beds ...

I kinda want one of these, which is unusual for me, as I'm not a big gadget person. http://www.pryntcases.com/
Prynt is the first smartphone case printing instantly pictures. The product will soon be launched. In the mean time, you can subscribe on the website and be the first to know when it will be available.

Yikes. Just seeing that title makes me want to reach for the Aspirin.

Even with my limited German language skills, that was great.

By coincidence our air-con at work has been defect for weeks, so a local re-enactment might be in order.

Woo, back on track and slightly ahead with 8792 words!  And I don't teach tomorrow, so all I have to do is work on my novel!  At the rate I'm going, my prologue alone is going to take up over 1/5 of the 50,000 words, possibly even more than 1/4.  I imagine the full first draft of the novel will be substantially longer (see previous comment about my verbosity), so for NaNo purposes, I may sketch out the bulk of the novel with a whole bunch of "This is the scene were thus-and-such happens", and then go back and fill in the scenes as I plan them. #‎NaNoWriMo2014‬

I have no idea how long my full story will be, but I have a feeling I'm looking at 100,000 words, at least.

Today I discovered the awesomeness that is Adult Wednesday Addams.  This is probably my favorite episode by far.

Another interesting idea for subdividing a larger room.
I built the "Pax Room", a room in the living room entirely out of IKEA Pax closets, without any construction material other than furniture and it's movable

In the process of sorting books. This is now the current state of the "to read" pile.

Evidence accumulates for our supposition that Frida is a cat.

I still like my theory that she's half dog, half cat and half bunny rabbit.

It's the only way to explain her various behaviors, and how you could possibly pack that much cute into so little dog.

Given the recent news that 2015 will NOT be the year we get a new book in the Song of Ice and Fire series, I figured that this was worth sharing again. Write Like the Wind (George R. R. Martin): http://youtu.be/j7lp3RhzfgI

When I, as a Caucasian person, walk into an Asian restaurant and notice that I'm in the ethnic minority, I know odds are good that I'll get a fantastic meal. Takumi did not disappoint me! Anyone who doesn't realize that there's more to Japanese food than sushi should come here to broaden their culinary horizons. I will definitely be back!

I do love a good sushi-go-round! This one not only has typical maki and nigiri, but also has a top round for warm dishes with selections I usually associate with dim sum. Especially great for me was the large number of warm and cold vegetable dishes, since I'm a big veggie eater. I look forward to eating here again!

Three different stereos playing three different sorts of music in rooms that aren't sound isolated is far from relaxing. Throw in a telephone constantly ringing with an irritating ringtone, and it's downright annoying. Plus my nail technician wasn't that great. If I hadn't bought a Groupon for six months' flatrate, I doubt I'd be going back.
