As soon as you walk in to Bludso's you know its going to be good from the amazing smokey smell that engulfs you. The brisket is a must and also the hot links. Best authentic BBQ I have found in LA by far!

I am from san diego. Happen to be in LA. I walk up to order and am told they are not taking ANY orders for 30 min so their kitchen can catch up?!??! Sounds like poor management to me. I sat in horrible traffic just to get over here. So I didn't taste anything. It smelled good. Oh and maybe that is good because they have a B grade for inspection. It takes a lot to drop from an A to a B so.....I dunno. Super disappointed and annoyed.

I've been here about 4-5 times now each time has been pure BBQ magic. On my most recent visit I was pleased to see that they'd taken over a spot (or two) next door so now the order/waiting area is practically cavernous! Service is a lot faster now too, thank goodness, but the food is still exactly the same--double goodness! I got their 2 meat lunch combo with brisket (so tender!) and very spicy pork hot links (they were out of baby back ribs) in the spicy sauce, with potato salad and cole slaw. It was 2pm on a Sunday but it was still pretty darn busy; hard to avoid the crowds here but worth the wait!

I have been on a quest to find decent BBQ in So Cal. Bludso's is the best that I have had in So Cal so far. Why? Because they get it right as far as the good smokey BBQ flavor with their meat. Wanting to taste the meat, I ordered the meat by itself with the BBQ sauce on the side. The brisket was fairly moist and had a good smokey, beefy flavor. The pork ribs also had a good smokey flavor. The meat was however a tad dry. The beef ribs were somewhat disappointing because they did not taste smokey and the meat was a bit dry. I, of course, ordered the sauce on the side as any true meat lover will do. There was sweet, spicy and mix (combining sweet and spicy). The sweet was my favorite having a perfect blend of sweet and savory complimenting well the meat. The spicy was a tad too much for me taking away from the flavor of the meat. Parking is a challenge here as there is really no lot and just street parking. Also, there is really no place to sit down and eat. Limited seating in back.

This is my favorite BBQ place in the LA area. That's not necessarily a high bar, but this place clears it by a lot. Really good brisket and beef ribs, especially. Smoky, but not too much so, moist and tender, but not so much so that it just collapses. Bludso's knows what they're doing. They are also for the most part very friendly people here. My friends and I had to wait around in the back lot once because something we ordered wasn't quite ready, and seemingly everyone working there chatted with us at one point or another, joking around and having fun. We order practically everything on the menu every time we're here, and every time it is way way too much - but that's part of the fun.
