A( stud) is a female that looks or dress like a boy. Don't even try to be nice... Ask for Maria!!! She is the the most sweetest helpful always smiling person there... I saw this on Diners, drive in, and diners. I went on August 12th the wait was ridiculous. The food was not as it seemed on tv. The greens were bland, the ribs taste like they were out the oven, and the spicy sauce was not spicy. My son waited an hour for a chicken link that's sad. The staff was ok the Hispanic girl really nice the black young lady act like she didn't want to be there. Maybe the one on labrea is better.

Positively the BEST BBQ I've had (in LA)! And, I've been to my share of BBQ Festivals (up and down Cali). Yes, this location is in Compton and make sure you map it/street find it - cause you'll miss it. It is a small location and the building blends in. Parking is a bit difficult in their lot; you are better off finding street parking. On the day of my visit, I had the lunch special (choice of two meats) -- angus beef ribs and pulled pork, all spicy with the choice of two sides -- potato salad and cole slaw. All this yumminess for only $11! I did not find the spicy BBQ sauce too spicy, but others who shared my dish said it was; so order accordingly. So, it is worth the drive, if you live in metro LA - YES it is.

I ate here about a year ago and would really like to get some more but seriously is this place ever open? Phone just rings and rings until you get a recording. Forget it I'm going to Jay Bee's at least they know how to answer the phone.

I love this place! The meat is seasoned to prefection. The meat is tender with just the right amount of barbeque sauce! My only complaint is that the place is too small, however I didn't take any points off my rating because of it. I've been coming here for over a year and they have grown in popularity due to being featured on the Food Network channel, so now their lines are always out the door when I come....Just be prepared to wait!
