Texas-style BBQ brisket, ribs & pork are served from a no-frills window-service space.- Google
"Mac n cheese was very good, beans and potato salad were OK."
"Maybe that's just what Texas style is."

This is my favorite BBQ place in the LA area. That's not necessarily a high bar, but this place clears it by a lot. Really good brisket and beef ribs, especially. Smoky, but not too much so, moist and tender, but not so much so that it just collapses. Bludso's knows what they're doing. They are also for the most part very friendly people here. My friends and I had to wait around in the back lot once because something we ordered wasn't quite ready, and seemingly everyone working there chatted with us at one point or another, joking around and having fun. We order practically everything on the menu every time we're here, and every time it is way way too much - but that's part of the fun.

I've been here about 4-5 times now each time has been pure BBQ magic. On my most recent visit I was pleased to see that they'd taken over a spot (or two) next door so now the order/waiting area is practically cavernous! Service is a lot faster now too, thank goodness, but the food is still exactly the same--double goodness! I got their 2 meat lunch combo with brisket (so tender!) and very spicy pork hot links (they were out of baby back ribs) in the spicy sauce, with potato salad and cole slaw. It was 2pm on a Sunday but it was still pretty darn busy; hard to avoid the crowds here but worth the wait!

Positively the BEST BBQ I've had (in LA)! And, I've been to my share of BBQ Festivals (up and down Cali). Yes, this location is in Compton and make sure you map it/street find it - cause you'll miss it. It is a small location and the building blends in. Parking is a bit difficult in their lot; you are better off finding street parking. On the day of my visit, I had the lunch special (choice of two meats) -- angus beef ribs and pulled pork, all spicy with the choice of two sides -- potato salad and cole slaw. All this yumminess for only $11! I did not find the spicy BBQ sauce too spicy, but others who shared my dish said it was; so order accordingly. So, it is worth the drive, if you live in metro LA - YES it is.
