We had about 1.5 hours to kill, so my boyfriend and I decided to get some drinks here and this cool spot, Blue Cow Kitchen. It was kind of cool being that it was outside, in the middle of all these high rise buildings. It was around 2 PM on a Tuesday, so it was kind of dead, but I assume lunch hour or at night, this area is filled with activity. We just got some drinks, but my neighbor dining next to me had this beautiful burger. We asked her how it was, she said it was awesome. We took note of this for next time. I got one drink, but my birthday man got 3 drinks, one of them being a Manhattan. Wow. Thanks to these strong drinks we had a funny afternoon, starting with those stairs leaving this restaurant! :) Overall, it was a cool spot, especially with the drinks and the atmosphere it has. A cool afternoon treat for me and my dude, thanks!

Great place, cool vibe. Burger I had was excellent, house burger with avocado and bacon. The fries were not. It seemed like they were the last bits out of the basket, but I didn't come here for the fries. Service was excellent.

The place is nothing like what the name suggests. When I read "cow" and "kitchen" I think of farms. Well, the bar/restaurant is cleverly set in the center of a DTLA courtyard, surrounded by skyscrapers and modern architectures. The crowd: financial district white collars and downtown hipsters. The food: California fusion, 3.5 stars. The drinks: alright..., 3 stars. It is the casual but modern ambiance (4 stars) that attracts people of their kind to come around for a few drinks and small plates/ bites. There's parking in the same building. After validation there's probably a few dollars charged. Street meter parking is also available, if your timing and karma come together for the right occasion.

Happy hour is pretty nice. Slightly cheaper than regular menu, but not by much.

I will need to come here for happy hour after reading all these reviews! I love Mendocino Farms.. in fact, it's my favorite sandwich in Los Angeles (I am talking about the pork belly banh mi sandwich). The version here.. even though it's the same owners.. does not taste as good. Different bread.. there is an egg on it (they don't have that in Mendocino). I do like the space it's at.. it's below the street level but it's a pleasant dining area. We sat outside which had some music and of course.. perfect LA weather. Service was a bit spotty. We waited a bit and had to flag down a waitress at times. We also tried the following: - Pink Deviled Eggs: I don't think it actually tastes that special compared to another deviled egg but it has some bacon on top - Wings: They didn't have the duck wings but chicken ones instead. It was good and tender but nothing special. - Pork Belly Sandwich: It's exactly what I just said above. - Brussel Sprouts: Ehhhh... it's good but not worth $9. It's got a cream sauce on top which I don't like.. but they deep fry it so it tastes quite good. - Shrimp tacos: Tacos are big but I don't know if I think it's the best I have ever had. In general, I think it's a nice place to go.. a bit over priced. I am not sure if this is a place I definitely have to go. Parking is difficult on the street but I did not know they had validated parking.

This place is staffed with absolute white trash. The bartender claimed to not know how to make a vodka on the rocks with a water-back. If true, she's a horrible bartender. That's the easiest drink someone could make. It has the same amount of steps as Jack&Coke. I hope this place burns to the ground, and, that the staff all die of cancer.

Solid, good food, trendy and upscale atmosphere, and friendly service. We came here last night for a birthday dinner, and I liked everything I tried here. I got the Blue Cow burger with aged cheddar, which was delicious. The burger was cooked medium-rare, and just perfect. Loved it. The steak fries that came with it were just okay, they could use some improvement. I also tried the kale caesar salad, which I thought was very good - and it made me feel healthy eating it. I also tried a pork belly taco, which was excellent! Too bad they only give you three of those, they should really give you more. But man, those were really good! The service is great too. One of my friends ordered the chicken wings, but they didn't have enough for a full plate, so they just comped her plate of wings AND let her choose another main dish for free, to make up for the inconvenience. That is great service! They also validate for 2 hours free parking in the California Plaza parking structure, so that's good! Yay! The happy hour menu also looks awesome, so I'd definitely like to come back.
