Certainly a lot more detail and better graphics in the later version, as you would expect.  I think this trend will only continue until such time as being in a virtual world will be as realistic as being in a real world.  It will just be different.  I love virtual reality and the potential it has to take you to places you could never imagine.

The key here seems to be that there needs to be a lot to do in open world games to make them interesting.  I have seen some truly amazing worlds built in Minecraft for instance.  Beautiful replicas of ancient cities that take the player months to make.  I find it fascinating.

Why do you think it is that competitive games are more popular with males?  Certainly is a growth industry and lots of money to be made in game development.  Atmosphere seems to be very important in a game.  Call of Duty is one that is very popular at my school.  Congrats :)

Very impressive clip!  You really know your stuff.   I do believe that virtual reality games and simulations are going to become even bigger and better in the future.  They are fascinating.

Wow, the graphics are fantastic in Half-Life!  I really love the name too - it is really evocative of something mysterious and compelling.  Team games where you have to collaborative must be really exciting.  How wonderful it must be to be able to research virtual reality games as a subject at school!  Jealous much :)

Quite incredible that FIFA started way back in 1993 and is still going strong!

I agree about music being very important in games, as it is in films.  Music can add so much to the all important atmosphere of a game - build tension, evoke feelings and emotions and take you to that other reality.  Cheers :)

Interesting to hear that these developers really concentrate on the narrative and storyline.  Nothing wrong with a bit of controversy in my opinion :)  One of the most important things in a story is that the audience will identify or like the protagonist.  All great arguments in favour of these guys being the best game developers.  Enjoyment is everything!  Music, atmosphere, indepth stories.....really immersive pulling you in!

Very creative indeed.  I love how you used the imovie trailer app with cool #minecraft  footage.  I am going to see if my kids can try this out.  Inspiring!
