It's not everyday that you see a Space Shuttle in the sky. Especially when that Space Shuttle is the Enterprise ( It flew around NYC today and I managed to have a decent view of it from Google NYC. It's making its way to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in Manhattan.

Cool pictures! Living in Florida, I've seen them take off a lot before but never seen one in the air that close.

Something added to just raw technology.Very nice picture.
reminds me of when I saw the shuttle a Stansted airport on the back of a plane which was probably 30 years ago, fantastic
End of an era, sadly. You got some awesome camera?
awesome!! such a great shot
Thanks everyone for the +1s, comments, and reshares! I had no idea my little post would get this much attention. I just happened to be at the right place, at the right time, with a little point and shoot camera!

I can't wait until July, when the exhibit opens. I'll be sure to bring along my DSLR and take much better pictures of it and post it here!
+Nikita Gilkerson , nope it's an old camera (Canon SX230 HS). I had my DSLR in the office but I forgot my telephoto lens at home! =(

It was a great era (that predates my birth). I'm looking forward to the next one!
This whole "SRE in NY" thing isn't that much of a drag... lucky bastard :)
Nice shots and videos.
