There are, of course, some cameras and other electronic devices which have both built in and removable memory. It's not unbelievable that somebody - even an astronaut - might overlook the key detail of adding a memory card into the camera, before leaving for the trip.

The language is rather ambiguous.

"Up to 2,000 items" means that the bag storage PURCHASE limit was increased.

You still have to pay for each 50 item capacity increase, one by one.

I naively hoped to see my capacity jump from 1,200 to 2,000. 8-(

Also, I had hoped for a corresponding bag increase, to hold more captured mon. More new species are constantly being "discovered".
Trainers, great news! Now, you can purchase even more space to allow you to carry up to 2,000 items. That’s plenty of room to store your Poké Balls, Berries, and more!
