We're working on a client story to be shared at the ball and in our next newsletter. Reagan and Kennedy are baby sisters who share many things. One is the fact that they're having happy, active lives, and another is a congenital vision impairment. Be on our mailing list so you can read about them when the story is ready. Sign up online here: http://eepurl.com/7GYQ, or better still, come to the ball: http://www.lvib.org/events/ball/. Thank you to everyone who makes services possible!

Like this bunny, time is hopping along and we need your help. Lighthouse has an upcoming spring carnival for visually impaired children--so we need some really big boxes to make booths out of. We also need Easter candy and plastic eggs. Please let us know if you have some to give us--call 727-815-0303. Thank you!

Big shout-out to the United Way of Pasco County for providing a generous outside agency grant for our Early Intervention Program. The program helps our young Pasco clients to age 5 meet their unique developmental milestones. Learn more about the program at http://www.lvib.org/programs/little-lighthouse/. The United Way of Pasco County also provides a grant for our Independent Living Skills Program provided to visually impaired and blind adults and seniors. We're so lucky to be part of the LIVE UNITED movement--thank you United Way!

Just reading a report called 'Making Eye Health a Population Health Imperative: Vision for Tomorrow.' It says "... participants receiving vision rehabilitation achieved significant improvements in all functional domains, while those receiving no treatment experienced declines in all functional domains." So getting vision rehabilitation sooner than later is really important however, our experience is that some people wait because they are in denial. And some don't people know about services that can help ... thanks for spreading the word!

Hello friends, we're busy providing services to clients, and getting out the Chasco Coronation Ball invitation and royalty nominations. Dining in the Dark photos will be available soon. Thank you for your patience. Right now, we're sharing a photo from January when the Lighthouse was happy to host the Hudson Bayonet Point Lions Club for their monthly meeting. Sylvia had the opportunity to introduce them to two of our current clients, including one teen. The Lion’s were happy to hear how their support is making a difference.

New Profile photo: In this photo, a client sits next to her painting of a heart that she made while on a Lighthouse field trip to Painting with a Twist. Our Art class in Pasco provides Independent Living Skills graduates with support to maintain and increase independent living skills, plus it reduces the isolation experienced by some people who are visually impaired and blind. Thank you to our donors and supporters for making our services possible.

What a wonderful Dining in the Dark experience. Thank you to our donors, sponsors, guests, committee members, staff, volunteers, and Silverthorn, for coming out on February 4 to Dine in the Dark, and/or for contributing to the success of this very important event that raises awareness and funds for services for people who are visually impaired and blind. Thanks also to DJ Willie Matos, who provided fantastic entertainment, and he took this video, now posted on Youtube: https://youtu.be/YX6VxTJ1fJk. Photos will be posted soon.
