I wanted to check out a capitol hill coffee shop, while I was visiting the city. I am moving here this summer. I love the music, the low key vibe, the elemental witty verbal streaming in the background, even the art on the walls. The salmon bagel with pickled red onions was delicious, and the coffee was superb! Definitely, an authentic vibe.

MIKI AND YUKI MAKE MY WORLD GO ROUND! But seriously, this is the spot for some seriously good coffee, a cold glass of rainier and some awesome bar/waitstaff. I don't think its possible to have a terrible experience here

We had my daugter's wedding rehearsal dinner here- 32 people. The food was amazing. Great choices, wonderful service, and a very close, intimate Atmosphere. I am a bit of a "Foody" and this place gets very high marks from my point of view.

The French country breakfast is a good meal to start your day! It is cooked in the way like beef Bourguignon with a poached egg on top of it. Check the photo I post here. Must order it if you're bored with the whole omelette/ regular American breakfast thing.

Pettirosso used to be a sleepy, hole-in-the-wall cafe with tasty bagel sandwiches. It close for a year and reopened in late 2012 under the new management of Yuki and Miki Sodos, who also own Bang Bang Cafe in Belltown (apparently, Yuki used to work at Cafe Pettirosso before it closed). Now, Pettirosso is a bistro, twice as big, with breakfast, lunch, dinner, espresso, and a full bar. Their brunch food is marvelous, there are always vegan options, and best of all, they somehow managed to score the Van Gogh of pastry chefs when B&O opted to move to Ballard. Oh! And the staff is crazy nice, to boot.
