There seems to be an implication that the stated price tag was too much to spend for Dr. Salia, which is further supported by the inclusion of his picture in this article. I would shudder to think that such outrage stems from any of his immutable characteristics. Is the author saying that $1.16 million is too much to spend to save any life or just that of Dr. Salia and those of his ilk? If the author is suggesting the former, then I wonder what is the appropriate amount of money to spend to save a life from the grip of Ebola. If she is suggesting the later, the author would have been better served to use the countenance of Dr. Salia to humanize the Ebola issue. Dr. Salia, clearly occupied a position of high regard in his country and should be used as an example of how this disease can effect any one. Given his recent death, this article seems a bit callous.
