CityLIFT is a down payment assistance program funded by a grant from Wells Fargo and NeighborWorks America and administered by the Unity Council. The CityLIFT program provides $20,000 in down payment assistance to eligible home buyers who are purchasing a home in selected cities. No repayment of these funds is required as they are structures as a soft second mortgage that is forgiven over a five year period.

 Eligible cities: Oakland, Hayward, Fremont, Antioch, Bay Point Brentwood, Concord, Pittsburg or Richmond

 Eligibility requirements:
• Be at or below 120% of the HUD area median income for Alameda & Contra Costa Counties
• You must qualify for a first mortgage loan with an approved CityLIFT Lender
• Attend a 8 hour homebuyer educational course from an approved provider
• Purchase a home within the city limits of an eligible city
• Agree to keep the home as a primary residence for at least five years
• Not own another home at the time of closing on the new home
 Eligible property:
• Single family home
• Multi-unit properties (2-4 units)
• REO or short sale properties are ok

Last weeks Hayward Street Party was a tremendous event. Thank you to everyone who came out to join us and thank you to the Hayward Chamber of Commerce for setting up the event.
