Nongovernmental organizations often send personnel all over the world to provide services and work with local communities. These workers perform vital but sometimes dangerous work. NGOs may be legally liable for harm that befalls their workers, whether through disasters, accidents, or violence. Fortunately, NGOs can reduce the risk of harm – and liability – by creating systems to assess risks, prepare staff, and respond to problems that arise.

This session will introduce the concept of duty of care and explore its implications for international NGOs. Topics of discussion will include recent court cases, insurance options, and the standard of care for employees versus contractors. Space is limited. Please RSVP to contact@klamplaw.com by November 11.

Klamp & Associates is a law firm dedicated to representing charitable organizations. Our mission is to provide quality legal services to organizations of all sizes that are working to serve the public interest.
