The police force consist of ex-militants. So with a history of corruption through training this same corruption errupts on some level when the situation presents itself, in this case the police officers and the murder of James Boyd. I think many of us feel this deep rooted repression, fear, and forceful instigation amongst our governing entities that creates a stream line down to us is ready for transformational shifts from the current hierarchal corporate ladder to a localized regional community oriented organism. When a disastrous event occurs we can also see it can and most often does, becomes a catalyst for communal empowerment. The reason violence takes place as much as we see it today is because there is a global outbreak of mentally ill people. Mentally ill is the military, the CEO's, people on the streets, it is in all communities. The mental illness is spreading because of cognitive delusion. We see it in the media, on the radio, in educational institutions, and the government. However, with all of this suffering there is an intense urge to evolve into something greater. We can see how the world will change through the present events taking place. Communities gathering protesting for a case that was unjust. Through the internet, and technology the ability to connect with events, and people around the world brings to light what has for so long been hidden. Regardless, of our daily struggles, insecurities, anger whatever it may be when it comes down to it, we all desire the same thing..Love. So when Boyd is violently killed, it brings up feelings of uncertainty and instability in our minds. Because the very group whom we have been told is doing the job to protect us, no longer serves its function and we no longer trust the conditioned "normality's". I do feel it is important to take the middle ground and see from all perspectives. The police have been trained to use violence in order to protect. This instigates fear in society and fear in the police. As long as theres fear there cannot be adequate compassion. When our body of government is based in the foundation of violence, it is deeply rooted in fear. The Civil Rights movement was a form of non violent communication. Yet, the police still used brutality to initiate fear in the people. This is where change must takle place, and through non violent communication we can make those necessary changes.

Today on the railrunner I was reading about living without expectations from the book "Words of Patrul Rinpoche My Perfect Teacher". It said live every moment with the knowing of what it means to be impermanent. As I was standing at the bus station there was an old native man with a long gray beard and a fu-manchu mustache. I complimented his bracelet, and he was the craftsman who designed it. On the bus we start talking again and he reaches into his bag and pulls out his card and a beautiful turquoise/silver bolo neck-tie then he hands it to me and says "here". I didn't know what to say, I was speechless and I remembered Rinpoches teaching to live without expectation. So I held his hand and said thank you. His name is Robert Garcia from Santo Domingo pueblo, NM. Thank you Robert!
