Wanted:   Help ripping from vinyl --> digital.
Anyone have the tools and willing?

This album is an absolute favorite of mine from childhood. I made the mistake of giving away the vinyl years ago. Then the internets went silent and the album was no where to be found. That changed recently....Hooray! Just purchased it again off Amazon. Publisher is long gone. Would love to listen to my childhood tunes once again!

Hello,

Now that you have MP3s are you willing to Share? Joe was my uncle and my copy of the record is warped and scratched because I was a child when I played it over and over and over...

A big "+1" for this! It's outrageous that working a full time job at minimum wage still puts a single parent family under the poverty line. This is basic. This is what government is supposed to do. Glad to see a bill for making it happen.

This is seriously amazing... use your mobile phone as a controller, your laptop or screen as the game box!

This is similar to an "RPG browser" idea I've been kicking around for years — except, you know, existant.

Health insurance has poor user experience. Shock! This gets in the way of people using it. So, can we please resume talking about the original awesome idea for fixing health care in America with single-payer? Sigh. I was really keen on that, Obama!

My health insurance experience has definitely been poor.  After getting a $200+ bill for what I thought was preventative care (just $27 applied to my deductible!) I now just assume I don't have insurance (with all the problems that entails), and my $260/month premium is just money thrown down a hole.  Hopefully that assumption will be wrong if I ever have a true need for the insurance, but I pretty much expect I'll get stuck with the bill one way or another.

I'm generally for small government, but in this case +1 to single-payer.  :-/

Fascinating! A deep dive into gendered pronouns in English, and strong basis for the continued revival of singular 'they.' Good stuff!

I wrote my undergraduate thesis on grammatical gender systems and their effects on thought, but I never dug this far into the history of gender marking in English and other languages.  Fascinating and entertaining!

I also recommend +Gretchen McCulloch 's blog, and Slate's Lexicon Valley blog, of which she is editor:

Think you'd be great at helping us build interactive exhibits? Have talent with sensor hardware? or game graphics? or mobile apps?

Want to work at Google?

Take a look!

Might actually be a biometric authentication method I could accept.

Actually, it would be kinda awesome if I could think of the task I need to do and the computer would both authenticate me AND open that app. Not only would it save clicks, but also save getting distracted by the state I left my computer in.

Me and my brainwave reader would be best buddies at work...!
