We go to Huntington Beach State Park at least once or twice a year. The beach is very clean. Get there early for the best spots. It can get crowded after lunch. Atalaya is a must see. Lots of nature to explore.

Have been coming to this park and camping since 1992 - every year - won't camp anywhere else. Best site in the nation. Great restrooms and showers, awesome beach, and great camping store.

Lovely RV Park we never stay anywhere else when visiting this area. One reviewer said the park needed cleaning up, back in Feb the park was hit with a ice storm, we was there and it was a mess the next morning I'm telling you. We just came back after 11 day stay and you can still see some damage from that storm so it will take some more time before things are back to normal. The only bathhouse that needs to be overhaul is the one on the hill over at loop 4 and from what I was told they are going to do some remodeling also the camp spots over at Atalaya that was wipe out when Hurricane Hugo came though are going be fix back up and reopen. The last thing is there are putting in concrete ada pads, they already had one up and are going put in more. As always I can't wait to go back.

I want so bad to give this park five stars. The beach is amazing and has good access. Atalaya was very interesting to tour. Alligators in the fresh water lagoon and birds galore. Ride your bike to Murrells Inlet or ride down to Brookgreen Gardens which are gorgous. But.....the campground needs a cash infusion. The shower house needs to be gutted and put back together but there was hot water which was a plus. The grounds need to be cleaned up. Someone with a chain saw to trim hanging dead branches, a weed whipper and mower and you could have it looking like five stars in a summer. So come on SC put some money into this jewell and make it shine. Overall, four stars but five if they just tighten it up a bit.

Awesome boardwalk into the marsh. The North Beach area was quiet, clean and relaxing. On the rock jetty we even saw dolphins. Would recommend to any beach goer.

Fantastic state park, beach and wildlife area. A great way to spend the day. An expansive beach for walking for several hours.

Great beach front and wildlife viewing. A little costly for a park.
