Happening now! =)
As NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft speeds towards Pluto, celebrate this historic flyby at this special event featuring a live viewing of accurate-to-the-second scientific visualizations and running commentary from New Horizons mission control scientists.
Hosted by Museum Curator Denton Ebel, Astrovisualization Director Carter Emmart, and Neil deGrasse Tyson, Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium, this Hangout will include New Horizons mission control at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory and science museums and planetariums around the world to view and discuss the latest flyby visualizations.
Launched on January 19, 2006, to explore the edges of our solar system, New Horizons passed the moon in just nine hours—a sprint compared to the three days of flight undertaken by the Apollo 11 astronauts. The spacecraft is on course for Pluto and now traveling 8 miles per second.
Detailed visualizations, produced by the Museum in collaboration with Sweden’s Linkoping University and NASA, will show what observations are being conducted leading up to the spacecraft's closest approach at 7:50 AM (EDT) on July 14 and onward as New Horizons plunges into Pluto’s shadow to gather data about its mysterious, thin atmosphere.

The Firebombing of Tokyo

70 Years ago today (March 9), 100,000 people were killed in a single air raid. Yet barely anybody knows the deadliest day in World War 2 history even happened.

I'm very surprised to see Disney willing to allow the Star Wars games franchise in the new +Humble Bundle PWYW bundle. My dream is that they will allow the +LEGO video games to be bundled in the future.

Paging +Robert Partridge +Matt Wodrich
Do you feel the bundle around you? Here, between you, us, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes? May the bundle be with you!

Pay what you want for up to nine Star Wars games in the Star Wars Humble Bundle!

Ever since Google switched over to the new "I'm not a robot" reCAPTCHAs, the verification process fails and I am constantly presented with almost impossibly hard CAPTCHAs like the attached screenshot clip.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this? I've tried disabling the µBlock extension and have used both Chrome and Firefox. I need to try testing it more thoroughly, but my best guess at the moment is that perhaps +LastPass is somehow triggering Google's service to think I'm a bot due to its auto-fill feature. That said, I've disabled auto-fill on the page and the CAPTCHA still fails.

If you have any ideas or are also experiencing this problem, please comment on this post so I can track down this annoyance.

Sunlight reflecting off the seas/lakes of liquid methane on Titan
Composite image from photos taken by the Cassini spacecraft in 2014.

Saturn's moon Titan has numerous smooth lakes of methane that, when the angle is right, reflect sunlight as if they were mirrors. Pictured here in false-color, the robotic Cassini spacecraft orbiting Saturn imaged the cloud-covered Titan last summer in different bands of cloud-piercing infrared light. This specular reflection was so bright it saturated one of Cassini's infrared cameras. Although the sunglint was annoying -- it was also useful. The reflecting regions confirm that northern Titan houses a wide and complex array of seas with a geometry that indicates periods of significant evaporation. During its numerous passes of our Solar System's most mysterious moon, Cassini has revealed Titan to be a world with active weather -- including times when it rains a liquefied version of natural gas.
