Stressed? We forget to breathe, when we are stressed.
The easiest thing to do anywhere you are, is to consciously "Breath In, Breath Out. Say those words as you do it. It relaxes, calms your nervous system, brings you to the present moment where peace is & reconnects your body & your mind. This is beneficial for everyone, anywhere! It doesn't have to be in a specific place.

In the 70's, the food pyramid changed. We are encouraged to eat more grains, cereals, breads & other starchy carbs. Wrong! Studies show healthy fats help lower blood sugars, lower cholesterols, increase weight loss, reduce heart disease risk, & maintain proper brain function (especially in kids). See why it is making you sick.

Are you taking good care of your eyes? As we age, we become more aware of how important this can be.
Here are some tips to prevent eyestrain when working:

1-Dust off your computer screen weekly w/ a soft cloth
2-Re-position screen to alleviate glare, shade the windows, change position of lamps or reduce lighting wattage
3-Give eyes a quick break by glancing away to distance every 10 mins.
4-Blink often - it is like a mini-break for your eyes
5-Check w/ doctor re: needed prescription for daily, long-term computer work

You can't just exercise to fix a "bad diet." What is one thing you can change today to go toward better health? Drink more water, eliminate sodas, don't snack in front of the tv, eat more live foods?

For years In the past, we were told to avoid fats. Now we know healthy fats are needed to support the body to operate at a higher level of health.
Use: coconut oil (unprocessed, unrefined), olive oil, avocados, raw nuts & seeds, real butter, full-fat dairy if you use it
Avoid trans fats (listed as partially hydrogenated oil), GMO vegetable oils like corn oil, canola oil, soybean oil, & cottonseed oil.

A variety of factors go into being healthy.
These contribute to having a healthy lifestyle: clean drinking water, good quality sleep, regular exercise, eating clean foods (including grass-fed meats, healthy fats, nutrient-dense veggies,) having positive thoughts, & a way to release stress.

What does your diet consist of mostly? Dead foods or live foods? "Convenience" foods are cheaper & if that is what your diet consists of, you will end up paying higher medical bills in the long run.
Someone once said, you pay the farmer or you pay the doctor. It may cost a little more up front but you will be better off health-wise over time...

Are you familiar with "food desert"? Many people do not have access to any fresh foods in stores & end up eating/shopping from a convenience store which means junk, processed or fast foods for their meals.
How many live, fresh foods do you include in your daily intake of food?

When is the last time you spend real time in nature? Living in a concrete jungle, we spend less and less time camping, hiking or just going for walks at the beach or parks & forests. Letting your feet touch the grass or sand is a health benefit called grounding or earthing. Besides receiving a deeper appreciation of beauty around you, you there is a health benefit connecting to the earth, trees, animals (nature.)

What are you doing for yourself?
Exercise (moving that body) promotes the production of feel good brain chemicals known as endorphins, which boost mood, productivity, and provide a sense of well being.
Exercise is an important part in treating depression, and may in some cases be the primary management technique. Exercise is so much more important than just looking good. The health benefits are far superior, and looking good is like icing on the cake.
