Sometime tourists arriving in Venice are scared about high tide and they ask if they have to cancel reservation because of it. Dear friends high tide can be a problem for venetians, store, warehouses etc but for tourists must be fun. I write this because some guests of hotel San Sebastiano Garden were a bit disappointed because that day there was Low Tide , they said: Oh we want to take some pics and walk through...
Here my photos for you!

Christmas markets in Venice will be held until Christmas Eve at Campo S. Stefano, Campo San Bortolomio and Strada Nuova. A journey through craft products, tasting and lot of activities. A place where you can taste regional specialities and lounge while discovering the city

Xmas in Venice is great! There's a lot of stuff to see,
the Procuratie will shine with a beautiful touch of red, while xmas images will be projected on the four sides of the bell tower.
Decorations will cheer your way downtown.

In 1630 the city of Venice was severely hit by the Plague, with recorded casualties of 46,000 people out of a population of 140,000. Some historians believe the drastic loss of life, and its impact on commerce, ultimately resulted in the downfall of Venice as a major commercial and political power. he Republic of Venice vowed to build and dedicate a church to Our Lady of Health ( Italian: Salute).
Nowadays November 21st Venetians remember that freedom from plague building a temporary bridge across Grand Canal to go for
Pilgrimage to the church, it's big feast and you can see how many people arrive.

Lost in ... Venice with bicycles!
I found this 2 tourists arriving with a Ferry boat from Lido island that decided to take an alternative way to get back to mainland. I gave them directions to find the main road while an old lady from a balcony whispered:
Ma i xe mati? (Are they crazy?)

Let's talk about food&wine. Two minutes away from hotel San Sebastiano Garden there's an 'Trattoria' that it's part of the story of this area. San Basilio trattoria (better known between venetians as 'da Borghi') is located in the Dorsoduro 1516. Restaurant menu from the typical Venetian cuisine based on fish from the lagoon.
Awesome spaghetti with clams. On nice days you can also dine outside in the tables set up with views of the Giudecca island.
