Marvin the plott hound had been throwing up for two days, when we went in to see Dr. Webber. He saw us right away. Dr. Webber and his team tried 24 hours of IV fluids, watching and waiting, and xrays before going in and removing two walnut-sized pieces of rubber from Marv's small intestine. Marv is recovering well. He's four days post surgery, and is acting like his usual cheery self! I feel like he got the very best care that he could have received, and not only that, I feel like I, as his worried owner, got great care too. They answered all of my questions, were clear and concise, and called with updates. And even though Marvin needed major surgery and it was touch and go there for a while, they were positive and didn't worry me. They seemed to take the brunt of the worry. It's not like they were overly positive, just clear, informative and caring. We received clear instructions for his aftercare and they called us to check up on him. It was the very best.

I've been taking my pets to Heartfelt Vet for about a year, and I also volunteer for a rescue group that brings their dogs here. so I feel like I've got a lot of experience with Heartfelt. I'm to the point where I'm so frustrated with this place that I'm going back to our old vet, even though they're two hours away from our new house. The staff here is pretty good. I really like the vet techs, especially Helen. Helen is a peach. The clinic is very clean and modern. I feel like they're the type of vet that's great if you're a new client, and not so great if you've been there awhile. They are expanding their practice, so details get dropped when businesses grow. I understand how that goes. I just don't want to be on the receiving end of sub-standard customer service, and that's how it's feeling these days. We had a 35 minute wait for a 15 minute vet appointment one day, while sitting in a room listening to loud construction noises, because the vet's office is expanding to next door. It was deeply unsettling to my dog, and completely unnecessary. Also, the Dr. has this frustrating habit of putting "extras" on the front desk, and then having the receptionist hand them to you, or ordering extra treatments that you haven't agreed upon with him. This adds roughly 10% to your bill each time, which adds up over time. The last straw was scheduling an appointment, and then having them change the time, and send a confirmation without even asking if that was okay. The confirmation was sent just two days before the appointment, even though I scheduled it last week. When I said we could be there at the time we originally scheduled, they said they were sorry, but that time wasn't available. It was available when I scheduled, but not now. Who were we bumped for? I think Dr. Mackowiak is a fairly competent doctor.. He's friendly and gentle. He's not a bad person. These seem like little issues, but when you're spending a significant amount of money and time for your pet's healthcare, the issues add up.

My better half and I worked with Chris at Delia furniture. He designed a beautiful custom steel and bloodwood bed for our mid century modern house. It's so lovely. Chris was great to work with. Our bed was done a week early, and it exceeds our expectations.
