Health Benefits of Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is able to help you ward off or reduce symptoms associated with many diseases and maladies because of its high contents of saturated fats, medium-chain fatty acids and antimicrobials.

Saturated fats fight free radicals and prevent oxidation. Medium-chain fatty acids help to increase metabolism. Antimicrobials protect you against health-detrimental bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses and other super germs.

Coconut oil helps acne by:

→ Boosting your liver's ability to filter out toxins (another vital function of liver) and deactivate used androgenic hormones so as to prevent the buildup of blood toxins and sebum, and hence, keep your skin less acne-prone.

→ Energizing your cells to help expel toxins through your skin to relieve your liver of detoxification load so that your liver can timely and properly deactivate used androgenic hormones, which in turn, regulate your sebum production and reduce your oily skin.

→ Stimulating your bowel movements to quickly clear the toxic waste in colon to prevent toxic substances from resorbing into your bloodstream and burdening your liver.

→ Sloughing off dead skin cells timely on the surface of your skin to prevent more clogging of pores that can lead to a more severe breakout.
calming down your sebum secretion.

→ Killing excess acne bacteria and Candida to restore their balance on your skin and in your gut respectively with its antimicrobial fatty acids. Restoring balance helps to hamper growth of bacteria and yeast, and stop bacterial infection, and thus, reduce inflammation and stop hyperproliferation of dead skin cells.

Coconut oil can help to increase the movement of your sluggish bowels when you feel constipated. But you must also drink sufficient water to get the "flush" out or you will feel an intense stomach cramp.

In short, coconut oil + water = constipation relief

Eating too much coconut oil at one go especially on an empty stomach may trigger diarrhea-like symptoms on you. That's why when you're getting started with coconut oil, bear in mind to start with a teaspoon per day first and gradually increase your intake until your body has adapted to the bowel-stimulating effect of coconut oil. Also, try to always add coconut oil to food so that even if it triggers diarrhea the effect won't be too strong for you to take it.

To lose weight with coconut oil, you must make sure you consume at least 3 tablespoons per day because eating less than the recommended amount may not help you increase metabolism to the point it starts to help you burn fat. The more coconut oil you take, the better will be the weight loss effect. Don't forget to cut back on your caloric intake from other foods because if you take coconut oil but at the same time still scoff in more calories than you need, the fat burned by coconut oil will quickly be filled back into your fat cells and you end up not losing a single pound.

Coconut oil may trigger some "side effects" on you when you use it on your face or consume it as food. But these so-called "negative" effects are actually good for you. They're healing crisis. Your skin breaks out acne because coconut oil is purging toxins out of your skin. You get diarrhea because coconut oil is helping you to move bowels and cleanse your intestines. You feel headache, fever, nausea, dizziness etc because coconut oil has just managed to kill Candida yeast that lurks in your gut and these are actually die-off symptoms produced by the dead yeast.

1. Keeping your diet as usual will not help you much even with the use of coconut oil for your acne treatment. Diet has a pronounced impact on skin. Hence, it's important to improve your diet, only then will coconut oil be able to kick its acne-healing prowess in high gear.

2. Using other so-called acne treatment products alongside coconut oil can easily offset the effect of coconut oil on acne. Just use coconut oil alone will do.

3. Our skin gets saturated easily. Therefore, don't put too much coconut oil on your skin. A thin layer goes a long way.

4. It may take couple of weeks for you to see the acne-clearing and skin-healing effect of coconut oil. Don't quit easily.

1. Virgin coconut oil is more than just a supplement. It's a food that you should eat every day, just like any food that you've been consuming for health and energy needs. If you treat it like a supplement, you won't get much health benefits from it.

2. Meat, high-sugar drinks and processed foods can easily negate the health benefits of virgin coconut oil. Cut back on them to gain more from this natural oil from the tree of life.

3. Unless you're a homebody who always get to consume virgin coconut oil at home, you should take it wherever you go to help protect your health against super germs "in the wild" 24 hours around the clock.

1. Thinking that coconut oil is the only super food on the planet is way too extreme. This might land you in severe health issues since coconut oil, other than its antimicrobial properties, fat-burning effect and the ability to prevent free-radical reactions, is just a small piece in the entire health puzzle. You need other health foods as well to keep your overall health always in tip-top condition.

2. To gain greater health benefits from coconut oil, you need at least 3 tablespoons per day. Otherwise, too little amount can only protect you to a small extent.

3. Eating too much coconut oil in one sitting can spell diarrhea-like trouble for you. You should always start with 1 or 2 teaspoons per day first and then gradually up the intake until your body can accept 3 or more tablespoons daily for maximum health benefits.

1. All 10 major fatty acids in coconut oil possess antimicrobial properties, which means they can help you fight and ward off harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi etc whether on the outside (skin) or inside your body. This steps up your immunity.

2. Because the medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) in coconut oil convert to energy quickly, and not only that, MCFAs do not necessarily require the need of insulin in order to enter your cells, your body get energized easily with consumption of coconut oil.

3. An energized body will in turn raise metabolism. When your metabolism increases, your body will go into fat-burning mode. Which is why coconut oil is so good for weight loss.

4. Externally, coconut oil keeps your skin soft and supple because about 90% of coconut oil are made of saturated fats. Saturated fats are strong antioxidants, which fight free radicals that can damage the connective fibers that hold your skin firmly together.
