Free Brooklyn event lets you control the color of World Trade Center’s spire http://tnw.me/jAwHyDi
In honor of the US National Park Service’s 100th birthday, public parks around the country are throwing their own celebrations to get people outdoors. In Brooklyn, you’ll have the opportunity to play some interactive games to change the color of the World Trade Center’s spire. Held at the Brooklyn Bridge Park, look for the Edison …

Yet another step toward the programming and control of the "sheeple".
A German data privacy commissioner has warned against "Pokemon Go," the hit mobile game. It's a "giant data collection machine," Marit Hansen says, which not only spies on each user but also can steer consumer behavior.

“An imagination is a powerful tool. It can tint memories of the past, shade perceptions of the present, or paint a future so vivid that it can entice... or terrify, all depending upon how we conduct ourselves today. ”

Ahhh, the evenings are FINALLY starting to cool in Southern California. Hot days are ushered out by breezy and comfortable nights. Time to get out the pot, give it a good scrubbing out, and stock up on my supplies for the oncoming chilly evenings.

I don't necessarily go for "trendy" goodies, but this is almost too cool to pass up.

Business owner and all around tech nerd
Introduction
Currently married for nearly 30 years, with a whole herd of kids and grandkids. I have lived in Redlands, Ca for several years, relaxing and enjoying it's Mayberry-like atmosphere. In my off time, you're likely to find me spending time with the family, working on the restoration of my 1890s craftsman home, haunting one of the many local coffee shops, or, sneaking in some reading or writing.
As to my business, I've been a computer nerd for a bunch of years. This has translated into a business that involves building custom computers, following tech trends, training, and consulting.

This place is very nice, with very good products and super service. A nice thing is their daily selection of both coffees AND teas. Baked goods are normally quite good, but some are seasonal ( I love their cheddar chive scones, but these are a winter only offering ). And as one other reviewer noted, their coffee is easier on the stomach.

CLOSED AS OF AUGUST 2012. This is just being added as an update. The Humidor is now closed, and has been for quite a while. It had transferred to another owner, and operated under the new name "Nicks Cigar Nest", but this too is now closed. ( Closed as of August 2012) Too bad, because the Humidor was a very nice place to do business, but owners had to move on.

First, let it be known this shop is now closed (as of late June, 2012). It's sad, but not surprising. While the selection was decent, and prices not bad (for a small shop), it's biggest issue (HUGE, actually) was inconsistency in operating hours. I can't count the number of times I went to the store to pick up a few sticks for my golf weekends, only to find the store closed. In a tough economy, and with the anti-smoking groupies, you'd figure you'd do everything in your power to keep a business of this sort operating, but I guess it just wasn't important enough to keep the owner interested. Shame, really.

This place is great. It's not what one would consider "dine-in" though. (it's more of a take-out type place). Food is served in good sized portions, but for those with a real appetite, you have the option of going EXTRA LARGE on those burritos. Service is relatively fast, even during rush hours. Some bark about prices, but prices are very reasonable when compared to "big box" mexican places. My family and I have been loyal customers for over 25 years for a reason, YUMMY FOOD! When you have the chance, try the garbage burrito, or chile relleno burrito. You won't be disappointed.
