Hi lovelies! I got some really good news recently: I've been selected as an Artist-in-Residence at Woodstock-Byrdcliffe in June, and I'm an alternate at another really really incredible place that may happen later this year. I'm about to explode with excitement and gratitude.
But, as some of you may know, while they pay for you to have a place to stay, they don't put any money in your bank account. I've had a bit of a rough year both financially and with some family stuff - so I had to start an Indiegogo if I'm going to make these things happen.

Just a reminder that I'm reading with the incredible Kate Gale of Red Hen Press this Sunday at 5 at Beyond Baroque in Venice Beach, as well as the wonderful Barbara Jane Reyes and Rachelle Cruz. I will either read about bad sex on a kitchen island or accidentally raising an army and destroying the world.

I have a feature up at The Rumpus -- I've been working on it for almost two years. This is another one of those that falls under hardest-thing-I've-ever-written. It's about my cousin, a neo-Nazi, nearly killing his friend in front of me, but also regret and loving your family and Diet Dr. Pepper.

Feeling really fortunate, waking up to all kind of love. My essay, Notes from a Unicorn, was published on The Rumpus this morning. It's about being bi, particularly about being a bi man. In the spirit of honesty, it might be the hardest thing I've ever written. Also, a warning: If you're family or squeamish, there's some graphic me and the sexing in here.

Back in 2002, when I was still in college, I lived in DC for a quarter in a quad dorm room that felt like the set of a queerish Adam Sandler movie. I—a semi-closeted bisexual drunk—lived with a gay gu...

"‎"Those they could not separate, they pepper-sprayed directly in the face, holding these students as they did so. When students covered their eyes with their clothing, police forced open their mouths and pepper-sprayed down their throats. Several of these students were hospitalized. Others are seriously injured. One of them, forty-five minutes after being pepper-sprayed down his throat, was still coughing up blood.

This is what happened. You are responsible for it."
