The carnitas tacos at Nopalito made the 7x7 list of Big Eats so I organized an outing to try it with fellow #LocalGuides. The pork was succulent and the pickled sides went great with the tacos. Not recommended for large groups; call ahead and order to go!

In general this place is not bad but we had bad experience with a very rude host and manger. After waiting for almost an hour to be sited, a few words and a lot of attitude from these guys we decided to walk out the place. After 15 year living in SF I never had an experience like this in any restaurant. I don't like to write bad reviews but this is something people should know.

Amazing mexican food, Is the brother of the restaurant "NOPA", and as the brother, really good. Delicious mexican food, and is not usual, but not very heavy. We order the some calabacin tacos, quesadilla de carnada and huevos a la cazuela. Everything really good. If you like mexican food you should stop by and try it!

It's so nice to write a great review! This was a wholly great experience and worth every penny! For the first time dining in this city, I got the check and said, OUTLOUD, "That's it?" The food was diverse, as were the ingredients used. The presentation of every dish was beautiful. The people were genuinely happy to be of service. A mistake was made and the corrected it and overcompensated, but within reason. The interior seemed cozy without feeling cramped, and it was full. Just take one look at the online menu and see if you don't get hungry.

Food: -Best things were the free fried garbanzo beans that tasted kind of asian and the carnitas, both of which I shamelessly hoarded -Complimentary mexican almond cookies in the end were also great, maybe I just like all free things -Ceviche was just ceviche, totopos con chile was just slightly flavored soggy chips, caldo tlapeno was just soup -Quesadilla roja con chicharron, didn't live up to expectations despite all the friedness/cheeseness/guaranteed heart attack Service: -Nice and attentive Atmosphere: -Earthy chill (this should be a candle fragrance name) -Feels like awkward forced speed dating when they seat another party WITH you just because you have one sqft of space left at your table -Only one bathroom for this decently sized restaurant, don't drink too much horchata if you aren't equipped with a steel bladder

We came here on a food crawl. We were all pretty full and thought what is one little tacos. The tacos are not small here. The meat is well season and tender. We all preferred the carnitas over the fish tacos. The service is friendly and quick here. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes.

While a tad bit expensive, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. My only complaint is the cost and the size of the dishes (I just wanted to eat more)! Overall, the vibe is great and don't be afraid to sit at the bar if the wait is too long.
