I love this place. It's a wonderful, chaotic, small corner of the world where pomp and ceremony is made of the tiniest tenets of following the rules. Agree with another reviewer who mentions if you go to an Asian country, you get the same officious service. So true! I think this family is from Hong Kong. They work pretty hard in a cramped space with all the boxes that are being delivered there. They're pretty good in that they usually extend the time allocated for holding your parcel - I collected a parcel after 10 days there and was so grateful they'd kept it. Yes, they can be abrupt and use a clipped manner of articulating what they want you to do next when you're filling out a form, or what-have-you, but that's part of their charm. Smile and go with the flow. Enjoy the theatre of it all. Lovely, happy family who clearly love what they do and work very hard to follow the rules.

These guys rock!!! All the other reviewers are correct, the chinese couple who run the place can be rushed and sometimes rude or abrupt, but deep down they are nice and helpful. Ever been to an asian country? Expect the same service. Just because they dont offer you a chai latte' or offer you a beard comb doesnt mean you should neg review their business you soft hipsters. Always get my packages within 3 mins of walking in, and usually get a laught at someones expense who cannot handle the banter. Keep up the good work old chinese couple, you have some fans out there!!! :) (the son is real helpful as well, just not as funny)

Holly scares everyone in Fitzroy North especially me. Brace yourself before having to go to this PO, it isn't for the fragile (package, or personality).

Wow, what a surprising and unique experience. I had expected to pop down to the local post office to pick up a parcel only to find myself transported into another realm. I felt like i was under a kind of surreal interrogation from a displeased relative by the elderly lady behind the counter as i attempted to retrieve my parcel. I feel lucky to have navigated the minefield of that interaction and to have gotten out alive with my parcel. Only to be chased down the street to be brought back to sign in a book. Wonderfully funny and funny if you have endless patience, an ironic sense of humour and the time. And extra star for the laughs.

when going in to pick up a package on a weekday morning... The place was flat out with queues out the door (its a pretty small PO), I get near the front after about 30 mins, and then the woman recognises someone at the back of the queue, and calls out to him to come to the front. He's embarrassed, the whole PO crowd gasps at the rudeness, then, sensing the attention focussed on her, she announced to everyone: "He in Business! You people not in Business! He very busy Man!" Then she processed whatever he had and the "very busy" business man sheepishly left. she then yelled "NEXT!" like nothing had happened.

Our problems began, when our daughter's aunt mailed her a present for her birthday. We received the card saying to come collect it from the post office, but that's when the Kafkaesque world of NF LPO really kicked in. No way would they give the parcel to my partner, despite her having multiple forms of ID including a Medicare card with our daughter's name, clearly identifying her as a dependent. No. The parcel must be signed for by the addressee. When re-presenting with said daughter, we were informed that "she's too young to sign for a parcel". No shades of grey here. Much agitation and bluster later, parcel was finally handed over, but not before tirade of insults were launched in our direction.

These guys are UNBELIEVABLE!! I've had to deliver a package to be sent and just today had the serious displeasure of picking one up. I am so so grateful to the higher powers that I have not had to speak to the rude dragon of a woman who belittles every single customer I've ever watched her serve. Unfortunately though the older man could rival a pissed off teenage girl when looking/glaring at you... Its the second time I've had to deal with him and the distaste in my mouth afterwards can hardly be put into words. I've just read the rest of the comments on this terrible place and vow to try and get something done about this place.
