The BEST restaurant in Austin.....My number one and I have been to all the all of Austin's best. The first class foodie experience by far. Opposite of an airplane, you walk thru coach to get to first class. Jezebel is located in back of Tapasitas Tapas & Bar. Jezebel interview you to create a custom menu to knock you off your socks. The price is a steal based on the food and experience. It's a 3 hour experience, so plan to be there for the night.

I have only been to Jezebel once, but I will never forget it. One of the best meals of my life (thanks in large part to a seemingly never-ending corporate tab that allowed us to sample some great wines, apps and fantastic entrees). Definitely reserved for special occasions (which might just mean occasions when you're not the one paying), but absolutely worth a visit if you can swing it. Austin isn't big on high-end restaurants, but I think that quality matters more than quantity, and Jezebel has given our city one very quality option for higher end dining.

Closed because of a fire, but it was oh-so-good. They are planning to re-open (thank you!) at a different venue in the following months, so check that out.

I dropped into Jezeble just looking for a hot meal. All the other downtown restraunts seemed to be closed this particular evening. I was greeted at the door and waited while a "reservation" was set up for me. The place was almost empty and I still had to wait 10 minutes for a table. I received a brief, confusing explanation about how they do things differently. The menu was somewhat confusing, but there seemed to be several good choices. I ordered the crabmeat with goat cheese salad and the Surf and Turf. I couldn't really read what was on the Surf and Turf because it was so poorly lighted and the type was so small. The prelimanaries included a plate of warm olives and a basket of 3 different kinds of bread. The olives were excellent. That was the last of the good. Everything was over salted to the extreme. The ingredients in the salad were first quality, but it was ruined by the seasoning. I had 2 goblets of water to get the salad down. The entree was scallops with what appeared to be pot roast. The waitress said they usually cooked the scallops very rare and I asked if I could have mine medium. They were cold inside and over seasoned and salted. The meat was good if somewhat salty. What appered to be mashed potatoes was tasted like mashed roasted garlic with lots of salt and a little potatoe mixed in. Completely unedible. After taking the edge off my hunger with the olives and bread and forcing down the crabmeat and goat cheese, the rest of the meal killed my appetite. I would not recommend Restaurant Jezebel.

Absolutely amazing dining experience! I had no idea what to expect when I was taken there for my birthday, and no expectation would have been close. The waitstaff were spectacular, the food was superb, and the ambience was wonderful. Adjectives need to be created to better convey my impressions. Go there for something special, with someone special, and simple be blown away.

This place is beyond what words can describe. I booked a reservation for my boyfriend and I for 7pm to celebrate our 2 year anniversary, and around 4pm I received a call from the restaurant confirming our reservation, asking if we had any food allergies, asking for my bf's last name, and reminding me that men are required to wear a jacket. The restaurant is easy to find, and as we got out of the car we were greeted by one of the staff by our names. Valet took our car and we proceeded to the back of the establishment through some doors where our private dining experience will commence. I told the waiter what kind of wine I enjoy and brought back an amazing white wine that was sweet enough for me but not too sweet to throw off the meal. The decor of this restaurant was beautiful with lots of paintings all around you, gorgeous chandeliers above you, the dim lights, beautiful music at the right volume , and a candlelight dinner to finish off this romantic and intimate experience. There are no menus besides the wine lists (they also have lots of wine off the list too), but the waiter will ask a series of questions to see your likes and dislikes. My bf and I pretty much said yes to most except to the duck liver option. As each course came out, we were amazed at how each dish tasted. Our first course was the stuffed quail, and it was perfect and moist. Our second was the chilian sea bass (already a fav fish we enjoy), and it made us say wow with every single bite. Then we had a palette cleansing housemade cranberry sorbet that was devine. We then had venison which was very moist, perfect and simply amazing. After the venison dish, we had the lamb which was very flavorful and great, but my only complaint was all the extra fat on it. Thinking our final course was coming, the server placed a personalized "happy anniversary" dessert in front of us. He explained to us what it is, and told us it is for us to take home to enjoy. He then took our anniversary dessert to the back to box up, and brought us our final course. It was like two desserts on one plate seperated from each other. The left half of the plate was the best tasting breakfast dessert we have ever had. On the right we had some sort of chocolate patte with raspberry sauce pooling it with dehydrated citrus clumps. Both were good but the right side was a bit too rich for us. We were thinking the check will be brought out at this time upon finnishing our desserts, but not quite yet. The server brought out a cart filled with different chocolates and ecplained each one. He said for us to pick as many as we liked. My bf and I picked at least 3 of them, and I found that I liked 2 out of the 3 I picked. Then we received the check along with two muffins to have in the morning. We were then escorted out to the front and valet brought our car around after a short wait. When we drove home and parked we then realized we had water bottles in the car from the restaurant! I give this place 5 stars because of the exquisite food and amazing service. Never had I had a dining experience like this before. You basically get two waitstaff and the whole kitchen to yourself. The waitstaff are very prompt to refill your water glasses as well as asking if you are enjoying each course. We will definitely will come back to this place because it never ceased to amaze us since the first step out of our car to the last step out of the building.

Food was good as was the service but the dining experience was not enjoyable. The restaurant was so dark we could not read the menu. There appeared to be interesting art on the walls but because of the darkness you could not really see it. The wine list was confusing and jumbled up with no ryme or reason as to its order. There was a statement at the beginning attempting to explain the "cleverness" behind it. It made no sense and was very annoying. I borrowed a tiny flash light from our server but still could not make heads or tails out of it. Too many other great places in Austin to put up with being irritated.
