One of Chicago's most noted locations for banquets, meetings, and events, this hotel is near the highly-acclaimed Michigan Avenue shopping district and the Loop business and commercial area. It's a short walk from Michigan Ave., where you can easily access a bus. Cabs are always waiting nearby the hotel to take passengers. When the weather is warm, you might enjoy a nice stroll to your destination. The lobby is recently-updated and quite comfortable to meet with friends or wait for someone.

The Hyatt Regency was an amazing an hotel. Customer service is top-notch and truly cares about your stay at the hotel. Big Bar is a beautiful venue to have some drinks. Room service is prompt and timely.

The presentation of the hotel isn't immaculate, but you can definitely tell they care about keeping a 2,000 room hotel looking new as best they can. The service is always great, though. Never have I felt like I wasn't a priority even when I'm a small fish in a big pond. Love the staff and attention to detail here.

Really courteous staff. Rooms clean and well kept. Mini fridge for personal storage would be nice, but otherwise had everything in the room that I needed. Well outfitted fitness centre. Hotel a little confusing to navigate, but many maps posted.

Without a doubt, it was the best hotel experience I've ever had. They found out we came to Chicago as a birthday present to my girlfriend's daughter, and they brought a cupcake and cookies to the room to surprise us. It made her whole day! Great customer service and everyone was friendly and helpful. We will be going back and recommending it to every friend heading to Chicago.

This stay was a gift from my parents & husband for my 30th birthday. Upon check in i realized that this was going to be a rough one when "Peter", the clerk checking us in was extremely rude. We were spoke down to in a very snobbish way. If you aren't rich or appear to be rich don't expect the "Great service" they talk about. He made us feel so small with how he spoke down to us. He then preceded to tell us about a hold they needed to place on our card (we were paying with a visa gift card). I am aware of an 'incidentals hold' since I have worked in Hotels in the past. He said if we place the hold on the gift card then we would never get it back so he wanted to put it on our personal debit card. So we paid with the gift card for the room and put the hold on our debit card. Once we got to our room we were not happy since the pictures online do NOT match the rooms. There was even a muddy 1/2 foot print on our sheets yuck! Plus, we had very loud people next to us, the walls here are paper thin! I called down to the front desk and spoke with 'Molly' she moved us rooms and our second room was a bit better than the first cleanliness wise. Later that evening we took a taxi to go see the Blue Man Group at the briar street theater(awesome by the way!). The gift card which should have had about $50 remaining on it was declined at the cab. I immediately called the 800 number on the card and the Hyatt Regency had OVER CHARGED US!!! Turns out they had put a hold on the gift card AND our personal debit card. When I brought this up that evening at the front desk they refused to believe that it happened and wouldn't even look at the proof that they charged us twice. I called the visa company again and they said that the hotel did, however if there were no extra room charges the money would be released. So they got double the hold on our cards! The way the front desk staff handled this was aweful!! Telling us we are completely wrong?! Nice guys. So the hold on the gift card was released 2 days later. However, the hold on our debit card has yet to be released. I called the hotel and they gave me the run around..... Again! I contacted the bank and they said to have the hotel fax them some info and my bank would make sure it gets released asap. When I told the Hyatt that they tried to tell me that MY BANK doesn't do that, I told him fax this info to my bank and they'll take care of it. He was again very rude about it. It's been 6 days since we checked out and I have yet to see my money which they said would be released upon check out as long as there were no room charges. Well, there were none. Mostly because they add 20% service charge on the mini bar and 15% service charge + $4.00 delivery fee on room service!! I have to pay a $4 delivery fee for room service??? It's only $2 for a pizza that comes from across town!! They will nickle and dime you and then treat you like scum. STAY AWAY!!! Like I said at the begining.... Unless you're rich you'll be talked down to like your business & money isn't good enough for them. I've had better service at a holiday Inn, plus cleaner rooms. I just gotta figure out a way to upload the proof I have in pics! Good luck if you stay here, you'll need it! Even our cab driver who took us to the train station said he's never heard anything good!!

If the price is right stay here. You can check in early, we did at 10 and extend checkout to 2pm. They can also hold bags at the bellhop later. The location is near the bean and the train stations, about a 10min walk.

I am not a fan of leaving reviews but I have to for the Hyatt Regency on Wacker. I'm currently staying there(12/29/15) and am truly disappointed. I don't expect much when traveling, I really don't, however I do expect honesty. Either the staff has no clue or the Hyatt brand is flat out misleading consumers. I booked a "deluxe" room at a slightly higher rate and upon check in was not the least bit enthusiastic about the room I was given. I went back to the front desk and politely asked if I had been given a "deluxe" room to which I was told they are absolutely no different than standard rooms. The pictures of the rooms are clearly just an example of better editing when I looked closer. Same in every way except the magic of Photoshop. Whatever, not an issue, a mere $12 more is not a concern. My concern is that they can offer a room that does not exist. If I wasn't with my son I would have went back down and asked to be shown a deluxe room. I don't want to start our father son getaway on a bad note so I'll move on. However, Hyatt will never receive a recommendation from me and I will be sure to negatively review this particular hotel everywhere I possibly can. The hotel is in an average location for Chicago. There are PLENTY to choose from within a 5 minute walk. Don't base your stay based solely on location. The lobby area is very nice. Plenty of food and beverage options. By far the nicest element to the hotel. The concierge was very helpful arranging reservations for dinner at Chicago Cut. The room is on par for large city hotels. Small, dated and semi clean. Neither my son or I have 12 inch black hair but quite obvious the last guess did. My son and I like to hook up our computer to the tv at night and watch Netflix. Not here. Standard def tv from the late 90's with literally no hdmi inputs. I have to go enjoy my stay so I'll stop but please look elsewhere or just save your money and book standard.
