I just met Robin late last year but she had a huge impact on me. We were working together to help her reach some of her professional goals with her team and at Google. In a very short time I was able to spend the afternoon with her team witnessing her authentic, warm and pragmatic leadership style. I was fortunate to have the role of listening to feedback about Robin so that she could further develop as a leader. It was a pleasure to hear the words "mentor, expert, strength, compassion, support, natural, authentic...." and the list goes on. But what I will remember the most is that the first day we met when I asked her what was most important to her, she pulled out her phone and showed me a picture of her family. It was the same day as the Sandy Hook incident. I was embarrassed because we'd just met and I was tearing up. She noticed and she said "oh good... you're empathetic". I have shared that moment with many others because to me it exemplified the power of being real and authentic. I'm so sorry that we are losing her and her amazing gifts. My thoughts are with you Michael and your wonderful girls and family.
