So, I got my new brayer, and decided it time to run the first layer of my reduction print.

New things are crazy fun and scary!

Now I get to start carving the second layer in the same piece of linoleum.

Ran a test print to see how the flowers look... Definitely need a lighter blue for this later, but I'm liking the feel so far.

Hey, remember that pen and ink I did a couple weeks back? Or, like, a month ago? (https://plus.google.com/+LauraKlein/posts/Po146aHve4d)

WELL.

Today I finally got the right ink to make prints from it using a solar plate. Guys, this is awesomely fun. I'm not sure how many prints I can make, but it's going to be fun to see. :-D

He loves me, he really does. Early birthday present from the husband: a trip to Meiningers for new ink. ❤❤❤

Carving out layer 1. This is going to be a reduction print, I think.

Something new for me!

Need something pretty right now, so started a new linocut. I'll start with the pointy objects tomorrow. Right now I'd probably cut myself.

Okie dokie then. Things I thought about today.

1) I am a messy worker.
2) Solarplates clean up easy
3) Akua inks do bleed on wet paper. I'm going to need some new oil based ink.
4) I need a taller table. My back hurts from leaving over to push the book-geared press
5) Pretty happy I finally got around to trying this.
6) Did I just poison myself when I etched this without gloves?
7) Paper is expensive.
