A look at 24 hours of air traffic over North Korea
Last week I wrote about the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration's regulations on U.S. carriers or aircraft using North Korean airspace. They prohibit flight in most of the skies controlled by Pyongyang but allow it — with caution — in a portion east of 132 degrees East latitude.

A company acquired by Google that develops robots for the U.S. military appears to have greatly reduced its dependence on government funding, suggesting a reluctance on Google’s part to align itself too closely with military projects.

A little bit of digging uncovered that Google has expanded Loon testing to Nevada and might be testing out 4G LTE alongside WiFi
Google has expanded its Project Loon tests to the Nevada desert and, for the first time, into licensed radio spectrum. Google declined to comment on the secret trials, but a local official confirmed they are related to Project Loon, and government filings point to several recent balloon launches. Loon is an ambitious attempt by Google to bring Internet access to vast swathes of the planet that currently have little or no connectivity. The project...

North Korea's ambassador to the UN held a Q&A on Friday. There was plenty of questioning and no answer. Instead, he offered correspondents advice.

Remember those drones found crashed in South Korea near the border with the north? These two Chinese companies sell the Sky-09P drone, which looks really, really similar. The SCMP got a denial when it called one: http://www.northkoreatech.org/2014/04/20/north-koreas-drones-made-in-china/ , http://www.northkoreatech.org/2014/04/22/more-on-the-chinese-sky-09-drone/

A story and video on the little-known X-37B. A fascinating USAF reusable space plane.
A little-known U.S. space plane quietly broke its own space endurance record this week as its current unmanned mission surpassed 469 days in space. Much of the information about the X-37B and its mission is classified, but the little that is public points to it being a development vehicle for new Air Force space capabilities while serving a secondary role for the U.S. military and intelligence community as a testbed for new space-based surveill...

How not to steal thousands of dollars of gadgets ...
Apple’s “Find My iPhone” application led police in Silicon Valley to quickly arrest two suspected thieves after gadgets worth thousands of dollars were taken from a Palo Alto startup incubator. Staff at the AT&T Foundry arrived at work on Jan. 8 to find three laptops, 15 cell phones, an iPad and other electronics items had been stolen from the facility, which was opened by AT&T to work with local startups on smartphone apps and services. The ...
