Moonshine Icon pack now free
Our Stance

Hello everyone! Ok, so this is going to be a long one..You guys are in need of an update from us, so here it is:

Over the past 3 months, I (+Pedro Peguero Jr. ) have been working hard with a new job, graduating school, and working with clients. Valiant Pixels is a start up team that I created over a year ago, so that I can one day open my own studio in NYC and have long lasting client relationships, work in a fast yet reliable team environment, and of course, grow in our skills and knowledge in Graphic Design.

That concept for VP is still alive. Unfortunately, for the past 6-7 months, I have been the only person in charge of VP, and the potential team members I had in the past either moved on to different things, or had to kindly leave for the time being.

VP isn't a "Google Play Store Developer". I cringe and correct them when people think that is what I (or we) am/are. The only thing we develop are ideas and concepts, in which we hopefully bring alive through a collaboration of other individuals (+Aidan Follestad, +Alessandro Eppacher, etc) or clients. V1 of Moonshine was nothing more than a simple apk with .png images placed into them. It evolved into something much, much more, which leads me to the next topic.

Moonshine is still one of the highest rated packs in Google Play (1.9M downloads, and over 72k ratings), and we are honored to be placed in such a stance with it being our first icon pack. Many, many people helped it get to where it is today, and you know who you are. The future plans of Moonshine are as follows:

Activity Fixes
Bug Fixes
Potential UI/Stability Improvements

Moonshine sort of got in the way of what my original concept of VP was, and still is. I got so caught up with the icon pack movement, that I deterred away from what I really wanted VP to be.

So today my studio, Valiant Pixels, is happy to announce that we're releasing Moonshine's graphical icon assets to the public; aka OPEN SOURCE. It will be under the CC-BY-4.0 Creative Common Attribution 4.0 International License (the same one Google uses for their Material Design icons).

You can find the source here on the github:

This includes the PSD files, along with all the appropiate .PNG files that make up the Moonshine icon pack.

VP wants to build client relationships, and tackle on some bigger and better workloads. Moonshine helped us tremendously with getting our name out there, and from here we want to get better connections. This includes making business cards, having one to one client goals, and working in a team environment in which we all share our ideas on a table, and sketch it out and make it a reality.

From this day moving forward, you will begin to see less mentions of Moonshine, but more mentions of new work. More real life projects from logo, magazine, and commissioned icon design which we share with you. On top of that, I'm in the process of letting more people get on board on the VP team, so that I can finally, yes..finally begin my core goal of leading a design team and running my own business.

Moonshine was a huge milestone in this journey, and I can't wait to share with you more of this journey throughout the coming months/years. With a new website in the works, and more work added to our portfolio, we can't wait to show you what Valiant Pixels truly is about.

Thank you.
