[Deutsche Post and Ford want to sell new E-Transporter to third parties]

Cologne (Reuters) - Deutsche Post and Automobilriese Ford also want to sell their jointly developed E-Transporter StreetScooter Work XL to customers outside the letter and logistics group.

Perspectively, "sales to third parties were also planned", both companies announced on Wednesday in Cologne. This year around 150 pre-production vehicles of the new model will be running off the line, until the end of 2018 it will be 2500. The new transporter is based on a chassis of the Ford Transit and is equipped with a battery-electric drive train and a body structure according to the requirements of the Post Office. The new model is ideal for the delivery of parcels in large cities and conurbations, emphasized Post CEO Jürgen Gerdes. The van offers space for more than 200 packages. Its range is up to 200 kilometers.

[Ford Transit Custom MS-RT - the ultimate lifestyle van?]

Two years ago, with the 50th anniversary for Ford's critically-acclaimed Transit van, UK-based company Van Sport has developed a limited edition Transit in association with M-Sport.

Earlier in 2017, Van-Sport’s Ford M-Sport range of upgraded Transits and Rangers was renamed MS-RT – giving us the perfect excuse to have another go in the most popular model, the newly monikered Ford Transit Custom MS-RT.

And this time the review is of a 170hp 2.0-litre EcoBlue Double Cab-in-Van (DCiV), complete with optional six-speed automatic transmission – the ultimate lifestyle choice, perhaps.

Van-Sport starts with a carefully specified version of the Transit Custom Limited, with features including air-conditioning, heated front seats, 230v/150W power convertor and Ford’s Sync infotainment system – meaning sat-nav, DAB radio, USB connection, Bluetooth and rear-view camera are all fitted as standard on an MS-RT.

Every vehicle can be stolen. For an amateur of other things it’s only a matter of time before any type of security is over. But can you effectively discourage a thief? We must remember that thief may have different motivations - one will depend strictly on the parts of our vehicle and the other want equipment from the van (eg tools or specialized equipment).
The most common solution is... [741 more words on Transit Blog]

The fifth-generation Serial Transit was advertised by Supervana Number 3. This Ford commercial sports van debuted in 1994. The body of this vehicle has been reduced by 10% compared to Transit mk5 because it was created on the Supervan 2 basis. The 650 hp Cosworth (HB) engine comes directly from the Formula 1.

Numerous sources claim that it reached the top speed at the same level as its predecessor, namely 280 km / h.
However, these are unconfirmed data. The highest officially recorded speed was 241 km / h.
However, for such performance, the new engine (Ford Six Cosworth), introduced in 2001. The drive was transmitted to the rear wheels with a 5-speed manual transmission, weighing 890 kg.

Currently Ford Transit Supervan 3 continues to serve Ford for advertising at numerous sporting events around the world.

Will we see another version of supervana? Maybe it will be used to promote the next generation of Transit in the future?
Time will tell!

The Ford Transit Trophy Was A Thing!
Ford Transit Trophy is what the series is called, and it’s pretty awesome. The Transit vans used in the series are powered by a Duratorq 2.2-liter Diesel four-cylinder engine that produces 173 hp, and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Transit vans do get the full roll cage treatment, as well as a much needed suspension upgrade.
Unfortunately, the last competition was held more than 5 years ago and there are no plans to resume them.
Nevertheless, an idea worth commemorating!
