Story
Introduction
I just returned from the adventure of a lifetime in Madagascar, where I scouted the jungles for Lemurs & taught English to hundreds of school kids in the tiny village of Vatomandry. I'm not your every-day, run-of-the-mill girl next door!!!
Bragging rights
I've summitted Mt. Kilimanjaro, swam with dolphins in the Red Sea, and careened down underground rivers in New Zealand, but still the best thing in life is my morning cup of coffee - anywhere.

I went to Salon Couture for the first time after meeting the owner, Kara Wells. She made me feel confident that it would be the perfect place to refer my clients, and that I myself would also be happy with their services. So far I have referred 2 male clients to Mary, and they were thrilled with their precision haircuts. I took my mom, who is very picky, to John for a haircut, and she also saw Martie for a mani/pedi. I myself just went to Angie for a wash and blow-out. My hair has honestly never been healthier following a deep conditioning treatment that they didn't even charge me for - they just saw how badly I needed it, and it made a huge difference! Professional, clean, friendly, comfortable, energetic, and stylish. After years in the cosmetics industry, I am usually very hesitant to make salon recommendations, but definitely feel good recommending this one.

Dr. Mike is my Boot Camp trainer, but I'd heard nothing but good things about his Chiropractic care. I recommended that my good friend see him about some chronic shoulder pain and tingling in his left hand. My friend is a professional saxophone player, and this issue was affecting his ability to perform. Dr. McMurry was able to squeeze him into his schedule promptly and spent 1 1/2 hours examining and diagnosing the problem. He put him on a stretching and exercise regimen for long-term management of the shoulder problem, along with an adjustment that provided immediate relief. He also gave him a huge discount on a visit to one of the licensed Massage Therapists in his office, and by the end of the week my friend Patrick felt better than he has in over a year. I feel really good recommending people I care about to Dr. Mike's practice.

What can be better than a gorgeous sunny warm L.A. day with great shopping, Farmer's Market, live music, water features, relaxing spaces, nice people, and although the parking's expensive, at least it's not too inconvenient. Highly recommend for a whole afternoon of fun.

I have traveled all over the world, and I can say without a doubt that La Descarga is one of the most exciting bars I have ever been to. It is a destination. Whenever I take someone there, I never tell them about it, because it would ruin all the wonderful surprises I experienced my first time - from how hidden it is to the entrance to the way above par cocktails and the band and Cuban style burlesque. Who would think that in L.A. a bartender would pay for your round of drinks simply as a thank you for coming back a 2nd time? Amazing.

I love the clothes at M. Fredric. They're pretty pricey, but they have great sales, and they do this fabulous incentive where you get money back dollar for dollar on what you purchase. They write out a gift certificate and you have one month to use the money you earned. The staff at the Westlake store is pretty helpful, too - they really helped my mom find 2 pairs of jeans, which is almost impossible anywhere else. Plus, the location is really nice with the walkway, fountain, and restaurants.

Unfortunately, there's no rating up top for COCKTAILS which is why we went to Stark bar upon recommendation from a top notch L.A. bartender. The Bloody Mary's were fabulous - they even had the "new" ice cubes - you know, the one totally clear long cube that doesn't water down your drink and causes no condensation on your glass? Classy! Gorgeous open-air bar with the elixirs and fresh herbs displayed in glass. Fun and energetic crowd, but not loud. Our server seemed a bit frazzled and not very happy, but it didn't really bother us. The food was o.k. - the Shishito pepper appetizer was delicious, but it really needed something served with the peppers, like crostini & cheese, and we were so excited about the Chile, but it wasn't very hot at service. Overall, though, a great space to enjoy a beverage in a really cool venue like LACMA.

Brant photographed my wedding, a family photo session on the beach, & my best friend's head shots, among other amazing sessions throughout the past several years. Anyone can claim to be professional, but he makes the experience so fun and relaxed, the photos can't help but be fantastic. He is highly recommended.
